Orion’s voice was cold. 

“You’re the one in charge here. Don’t ask me.” 

Lucius was taken aback. He questioned, “Wait, wasn’t that girl just with you?” 

Orion glanced at him, his gaze sharp with warning. 

“We don’t know each other well. 

With that, he turned and walked away with a blank expression. 

Lucius stood frozen and unsure of what to do. 

The young woman’s sobs grew louder, now tinged with sorrow. 

“Can you give me a jacket? I need to dry my clothes.” 

“Alright, there’s an empty room upstairs. You can freshen up there,” Lucius replied. 

With no servant in sight, he had no choice but to take off his own suit and toss it to Lucinda from the end of the hallway. 

He couldn’t get too close. Once he got close, things would get messy. This woman was definitely not someone to be taken lightly. 

Lucius had no intention of getting involved in any trouble. 

Meanwhile, Seraphina was deep in conversation with Wilson. The two of them were discussing the next steps for their project. 

Wilson clinked his glass lightly with her and lowered his voice. “Mr. Dros is heading this way.” 

Seraphina looked up. Sure enough, Orion was approaching. 

Lucinda wasn’t with him. 

It seemed he had passed her off to Lucius. 

Lucinda hadn’t seized her chance. 

But why did Orion’s gaze seem so cold, almost as if he were angry? 

Lucius quickly caught up. He gently guided Orion toward Seraphina, glancing at Wilson with a casual 

smile. 

“What a coincidence, Mr. Rockwell. I’ve been meaning to consult you on something. Why don’t we talk over here?”

Seraphina remained seated on the sofa. She was swirling a glass of grape juice in her hand as she looked at Orion and gave him a nonchalant smile. 

“Mr. Dros, I assume everything’s fine over there?” 

She asked her question almost casually, laced with feigned concern. 

Orion’s breath stilled. He fought to suppress the surge of emotions inside him. 

“Seraphina, are you doing this on purpose?” 

Seraphina blinked, confused. “On purpose? What do you mean? 

“There were so many people there. Why did you send me?” 

Orion’s attitude suddenly became aggressive. 

He knew the answer would cut deep, yet he felt compelled to confront it, even if it hurt more. 

Seraphina lowered her gaze slightly before letting out a soft laugh. 

“I thought you and Mr. Corcker were old friends. Naturally, I assumed you wouldn’t leave his daughter unattended. Besides…. 

Her eyes sparkled with a subtle meaning, her lips curling into a knowing smile. “I heard her mention you earlier. If it wasn’t for you, would she have been in that situation?” 

Though she hadn’t spelled everything out, Orion clearly didn’t want to hear more.

He emphasized each word. 

He stared at her. His eyes stung, turning slightly red as a bitter smile played on his lips. 

“Seraphina, you’re quite the expert at tormenting me.” 

Before Seraphina could reply, she glimpsed Lucinda in her peripheral vision. That young woman was hastily making her way upstairs in Lucius’s suit. 

Her hurried exit was pitiful, but no one seemed to notice. 

Seraphina calmly turned her gaze back to Orion and spoke quietly. “Orion, I wasn’t trying to torment you. I was trying to set you free.” 

Her voice was soft, almost serene, but sincere. 

“I’ve thought a lot about our relationship these past few days. Thank you for the time and effort you’ve invested in me, but I’m sorry. I just can’t get back together with you.” 

She spoke with a cool, almost excessive calmness.
