Orion noticed this; he turned his attention to Aiden, and his gaze grew noticeably colder. 

Aiden was perplexed by his inexplicable hostility, but he made an effort to ignore it. 

“Seraphina,” Aiden began, “the smart medical device we launched overseas has received unanimous praise. However, the healthcare conditions abroad and here differ, so we still need to integrate further. What do you think? Are you considering additional investment?” 

Seraphina knew exactly what to expect as soon as he spoke. 

She smiled and replied, “Sure. Send me the second–round investment proposal. We will transfer the funds immediately once our board approves it. 

Aiden knew she would be quick to agree. 

He shook off his fatigue and smiled. “Great, let’s drink to that.” 

With Aiden acting as a buffer, the atmosphere remained relatively relaxed, as long as Orion’s eyes seemed glued to Seraphina. 

As they ate and chatted, Seraphina found herself drinking more than she realized. 

Her head started to feel a little dizzy, and her lower abdomen began to ache slightly. 

She wobbled to her feet and made her way to the restroom.
