She pretended to be clueless as she pulled out her phone and showed me the photos, her gentle questioning laced with insinuation.

"Honestly, is this really you? If it is, who took these photos? You wouldn't be cheating on my brother?..."

She glanced at Evan, perfectly timing her pause.
