The twin brothers, Orion and Lysander, helped the lamentable and regretful Mrs. Hawke out. She had intended to see Miranda, calling her out in the distance, but Lavinia's bodyguards blocked her path, preventing her from getting close.

Miranda averted her gaze with indifference. This only deepened Mrs. Hawke's despair, and she kept repeating, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I was wrong. I'm sorry."

Dorian cast a lingering glance at Miranda before leaving with the rest of his family.

The scandal involving the Hawke family spread like wildfire among the social circles. The Blackwell family, who once had a marriage contract with the Hawkes, felt lucky that they cut ties early.

Miranda was left speechless.
