Miranda chuckled, "You're quite thoughtful, aren't you?"

She found it rather surprising that a grown man would prepare a Barbie doll for a little girl. It was an unexpected contrast.

Sebastian seemed to bask in the compliment, his handsome features softening with a gentle glow, almost angelic.

"Thanks for the compliment," he replied with a light laugh.

"I didn't know you had a sister. Is she your biological sister?" Miranda asked.

Sebastian nodded, "Yes, she was diagnosed with this strange illness when she was three. Since then, we've kept her hidden away, so the outside world doesn't know that the Everhart family has another daughter."

"What about your parents?" Miranda inquired.

Sebastian spoke calmly, "My father is managing our overseas interests, and my mother, well, she's been in cryogenic sleep for many years now. She was actually the first victim of Susie's mysterious illness."

Miranda furrowed her brow. She had only seen Susie's condition through videos Sebastian had shared, but he hadn't revealed much else. The situation seemed more complicated than he had initially let on.

"Susie's condition appears to be more severe than what you initially described. There's more to it than I realized," Miranda said quietly.

As she looked at Susie Everhart, her eyes fell on the girl's arms. To her shock, Susie's arms were almost entirely decayed, with rotting plant roots embedded in the flesh, seemingly feeding off her body.

Her eyes turned cold and steely.

Sebastian looked at Susie and nodded, "You're right. Her mental state has remained at that of a three-year-old. Today, I'm going to tell you everything about Susie, not just because you're a doctor," he smiled softly, "but because you're the only person I trust."

Miranda was taken aback. How had she become the only person he trusted?

But she was genuinely intrigued by Susie's condition.

Miranda was observing Susie. "Have you discovered anything?"

She understood that when Sebastian mentioned "those people," he was likely referring to government agencies, similar to RapidForce.

Sebastian replied, "Recently, I found out about a mercenary group called Crow, and they seem to have someone who uses a similar toxin."

Miranda looked up at Sebastian, "Do you suspect that person?"

Sebastian shook his head, "I don't know. I've checked the security footage. It was a family party that night, no outsiders. So, it might be related to him, but he wasn't the one who poisoned her."

Miranda was puzzled, "Harming a child doesn't make sense. Susie isn't the heir to the Everhart family..."
