Miranda hesitated for a moment, "Stay at your place? Isn't that a bit inconvenient?"

Sebastian chuckled, "There's nothing inconvenient about it. Whatever you need, I can have it ready for you today. Plus, it makes it easier for you to keep an eye on Susie's condition without having to go back and forth. What do you think?"

Seeing Miranda deep in thought, he asked, with a touch of awkwardness, "Are you worried that Elian Ashcroft might find out?"

"If you're concerned about him knowing, I can give him a call and explain."

His voice was gentle, almost as if he was willing to compromise.

This made Miranda feel a bit guilty.

Sebastian and Elian never really got along.

Having Sebastian call Elian over this matter seemed a bit much.

Miranda was the kind of person who responded better to kindness rather than force.

Besides, what did her curing Susie have to do with Elian anyway?

"Why would you call him?" she frowned.

Sebastian smirked, "So, does that mean you agree?"

Miranda initially felt uneasy about staying at someone else's place, but with Sebastian’s insistence, it seemed rude to refuse.

"Alright, I can stay here for a couple of days," she conceded. "But I need my stuff."

Sebastian’s eyes twinkled with amusement, "I'll have someone fetch anything important you need. As for other necessities, don’t worry, they’ll be here soon."

Miranda nodded.

She didn’t really have much with her, having already brought her medical kit.

She just needed Sebastian to pick up some herbs.

"That should work," she agreed.

Then she turned to Susie beside her.

Even though much of Susie's skin was damaged, it didn’t seem to bother her much.

"Susie, does it hurt?" Miranda asked softly.

Susie had been watching her, eyes filled with curiosity.

"Sometimes it does," she replied obediently.

Sebastian joined them, "Since she got sick, she doesn’t warm up to anyone but me. Susie really likes you."

Susie tilted her head, unabashed admiration shining in her eyes as she looked at Miranda.

She grinned and said, "Pretty lady."

Though she was thirteen or fourteen, her mental age was that of a toddler.

Her words were childlike but sincere.

Miranda patted her head, smiling, "You're pretty too."

As she did so, she discreetly inserted a silver needle into the top of Susie's head.

"What’s wrong?" Sebastian asked.

Miranda pushed her thoughts aside, keeping her tone calm, "Nothing, just impressive."

Susie remained oblivious to the needle incident.

She picked up her Barbie doll and smiled at Miranda.

Her other hand held tightly onto Miranda’s, reluctant to let go.

Sebastian eventually had to intervene, gently prying Susie’s hand away.

Due to Susie's condition, Miranda decided to stay at Sebastian’s for the time being.

Her room was already prepared, right next to Sebastian's.

Sebastian had thought of everything, as if she was going to live there forever.

Within half an hour, the butler arrived with a mountain of clothes.

All high-end brands.

Everything from pajamas to everyday clothes was covered.

The butler explained, "The young master sent your photo to a fashion consultant. The sizes, styles, and types were all chosen by them."

Miranda breathed a sigh of relief.

She was startled for a second, thinking Sebastian had picked out her pajamas and innerwear himself.
