Willow didn’t leave for Yarrowmere.
She knew Julian far too well. He did all those things and was lying in wait for her. Then, he was going to take his time bending her to his will.
Yet, Gibson Group was in dire straits-
Willow received a call Jettrey’s mother, Dorothy, had invited herforcoffee.
Although the Gibson family was in financial trouble, Dorothy still dressed herself to the nines for a simple meeting.
She was practically dripping with branded goods and sparkling jewelry
Willow and Dorothy made themselves comfortable in a high–end cate. Willow looked at the wealthy but weary–looking lady across from her, well aware that the other woman was most definitely going to spew some harsh words. Unfortunately, she had no choice but to show up.
As expected, Dorothy stirred her coffee and said snootlly, “I never objected to your friendship with Jeffrey in the past because you were Julian’s wife. I had assumed that Jeffrey would know where to draw the line. I didn’t blame you when Jeffrey got hurt because of you, as i knew jeffrey did it all willingly.
“However, I’m here to tell you to please stop contacting Jeffrey now that you’re divorced. After all, I’m sure we don’t want any unpleasant rumors to make their rounds, do we?
Willow replied calmly, “Don’t worry. 1only want to help”
Dorothy looked up from her drink, her gaze piercing, “I’ll be blunt. I’m aware that jeffrey is in love with you, but I will never accept you as his wife. Even if I do not consider your status as a divorced woman, even if I disorgard the fact that you were married to Julian, I will still never accept someone like you into my family
She paused briefly before adding. “Jeffrey’s father and I place a great deal of importance on the olson family’s future mistress’s background.”
Willow found it humiliating to be spoken to in such a manner, but she still forged through it.
After all, she owed Jeffery her life.
Willow could swallow her grievances, but Heather, who had passed by, could not.
She had a limited–editionary purse made from crocodile leather in her arms as she marched to their table. Then, she said with indignation, “Willow didn’t even say anything about marrying into the Gibson family. Yet, here you are, playing the role of an abusive mother–in–law, How’s that fair, huh?”
Dorothy’s face turned pale with anger out of embarassment. She grabbed her purse and rose to her feet. “It’s always better to smother a fire before it can bur Who knows whether she’s doing this to achieve her ulterior motive, like seducing Jeffrey?”
Heather wanted to argue in Willow’s defense.
However, Willow quickdy tugged on her sleeve and shook her head.
Heather couldn’t help but feel for her. She reached out to hold Willow’s hand in support. “Your parents would be so upset to hear that,”
ting by the time they bid each other farewell, dyeing the sky gold.
Willow drove to the southem suburbs, planning to visit her grandmother and take Snowy back to her apartment.
