Chapter 137
The sky was basked in the evening sun’s gentle glow.
Willow swung by Grandview Manor. Blair was very happy to see he, thinking that she and Julian had patched things up. She immediately ran over and said, “Mrs. Ziegler, you’re home.”
Willow forced a smile and responded, “I left something in the storeroom, and I came here to take it.”
Blair didn’t suspect a thing. Grabbing the key, she led Willow to the storeroom, saying, “It’s been a long time since anyone went there. I’ve no idea if the stuff inside got moldy. Let me take a peekrst, Mrs. Ziegler. Wouldn’t want to make your shoes dirty.”
They arrived at the storeroom’s door as they spoke. Willow told Blair that she wanted to go inside by herself. The latter pondered on it for a while before she agreed to it. As she unlocked the metal oor for Willow, a foul, moldy stench wafted out of the
storeroom.
Blair turned on the lights. “Mrs. Ziegler, please watch your steps.
Willow entered and quickly saw a piano in the corner of the room. The Eboris nameplate and its glistening lacquer finish highlighted its luxury, but the million–dollar piano was casually abandoned here simply because Alicia shed a tear.
Willow snickered self–derisively. What a fool she had been. For five long years, Julian had been treating her as a charity case, and yet she thought he was the best thing that could happen to her.
Was there anything real left in her marriage?
Was Julian going to keep it a secret from her if Catherine hadn’t told her the truth? Did he plan to look after Alicia for the rest of his lie
At that moment, Willow’s phone rang. It was Julian. She answered it, and she heard his tender voice. “Are you done working? How about I swing by and pick you up now?”
Raising her head slightly, she suppressed her sobbing and responded softly, “I’ll drive there myself.”
Julian didn’t suspect a thing and proceeded to tell her the time and place for the meetup. Willow hung up the phone and slowly walked out of the storeroom. She said to Blair, “Don’t let Julian know that I was here.”
Blair instantly knew that something was wrong. She wanted to ask about it, but she didn’t dare to do it.
Willow put thought into her appearance for tonight’s date. Dressed in a custom black gown with a daringly exposed neckline, she wore a full–diamond necklace that brought out the sophistication and gracefulness in her.
The restaurant manager led her to the restaurant.
Julian was clearly stunned by her beauty. Grabbing her shoulder, gently, he said, “The gown suits you well.”
Willow grinned faintly. “Thanks.”
Julian couldn’t hold himself back. Leaning forward, he pecked her lips, his eyes brimming with lust. Last night’s sensual moments were such a treasure to him that he couldn’t stop thinking about them for the whole day.
Willow didn’t stop him. In fact, she flashed him a graceful smile. “You made a reservation at the top restaurant in Brindley. Of course, I have to doll up and fit in.”
They were the only people in the restaurant. A violinist was playing a beautiful melody, and the circular floor–to–ceiling window offered a night view of the entire city. It was such a romantic setup.
That wasn’t even saying how mature and dashing Julian was. If this had happened in the past, Willo would’ve thought that she won the game of life and had it all.
