Alicia also smiled. “How can you say I’m framing you when you’re the one who hit me? Julian will be here soon, and he’s going to see your cruel side.”

“Is that so? I don’t care about that, though.” Willow slapped Alicia with all her might after saying that. It instantly made the latter’s other cheek swell up.

Alicia was stunned. “How could you hit me?”

Willowdeered. “Why can’t I? I’ve had it up to here with you, and let me tell you why I can hit you–because I’m Willow Harper, the doughter of the Chapman family, and because the Burke family still owes me tens of millions of dollars!

“Are those reasons enough for you? Besides, being slapped twice will only make your precious Julian pity you more, won’t it?”

Alicia trembled all over, her eyes glistening with tears. She’d never been this humiliated in her life.

Just then, footsteps came from outside the restroom. After a while, Julian entered and immediately saw the glaring handprint on Alicia’s face. He frowned.

Willow turned to wash her hands. She said indifferently, “I slapped her. You can take her away now.”

Alicia’s lips trembled. “Julian, are you going to stand there and watch as she bullies me?”

He stared at her for a while before turning to Willow and saying tenderly, “I’ll deal with this and be back later. If the dinner is over by then, I’ll visit you at the villȧ.”

Alicia screeched, “Julian Ziegler!”

His gaze turned frosty. “Let’s go. I’ll take you back to the hospital.

Alicia wrapped her arms around her knees as she leaned against her bed in Heartwell Hospital’s VIP ward. She mumbled, “How did I become like this, Julian? Isn’t it because you pushed me too hard? I love you, but you fell for Willow. You promised you wouldn’t love anyone but me. You promised!”

She looked up at him, her face pale underneath the harsh lights. “This is all because I love you, Julian.”

Julian’s expression was hideous. He looked at her and said, “We’re over, Alicia. Money is all I can give you now—I can arrange for someone to care for you for the rest of your days. Willow is pregnant, and I swore I wouldn’t let her and the baby down anymore. Don’t pull something like this again.”

He pulled out a checkbook from his pocket after saying that and wrote a check for 80 million dollars. That was more than enough to pay for whatever time Alicia had left.
