Julian stood there. His face was devoid of emotion. It was impossible to tell what was going through his head.

While Julian was outside, Catherine’s parents had rushed over to the villa. Nancy screamed when she saw how the house was in a
complete mess.
“What on earth happened here? Who was it that had the audacity to do this to the Nebula Group’s CEO’s house?”
Catherine held one hand over her cheek. “It was Willow.”
Nancy’s anger diminished almost instantly. However, she snickered a few seconds later. “She won’t be able to act haughtily like
this for long. We can do pretty much anything we want to an orphan like her once Julian divorces her.”
Charlie felt his conscience telling him this was not right. He furrowed his brows. “Don’t say that. She’s Julian’s lawfully wedded
wife, after all.”
Nancy was irked. “Lawfully wedded wife? If you ask me, the two of them are just pretending to be a couple. If it weren’t for what
happened back then…”
Charlie called out to Nancy and stopped her from saying more.
Nancy ordered a maid to fetch her some ice. Then, she helped apply a cold press to Catherine’s swollen cheek.
“Look what she’s done to Catherine! Are you not going to do something about it? Aren’t you acquainted with Aurelia Group’s Mrs.
Chapman? You should talk to her. If Mr. Chapman agrees to work with Nebula because of Catherine, it’ll help Catherine solidify
her position in the Ziegler family.”
Catherine’s eyes were bright with tears. “Dad, say something!”
Charlie had an awkward expression on his face.
Nancy cast him a sidelong glance. She remarked scornfully, “You’re still not over her, aren’t you? She’s already married to
another man.” (1
Charlie snapped, “What nonsense are you going on about?”
Truthfully, he could not help but feel a bit guilty. At night, Charlie would often dream of his past lover and the child they’d had in his sleep. The child went missing when she was only five, and they still had not found her even after years of searching.
Charlie had only learned of this two years ago, and he dared not tell Nancy what happened.
He went over to a corner to have a cigarette. The smoke from his cigarette curled upward, and the corners of Charlie’s eyes were
red.
Nancy did not notice the unusual changes in her husband’s emotions. She was still nagging. “I don’t care what happened between
