In the bathroom, Willow splashed cold water on her face, trying to cool her overheated skin.
She stared at her reflection in the mirror, momentarily dazed.
The woman looking back at her felt almost unfamiliar. Her hair was tousled, her soft skin was nearly glowing, and her lips were slightly swollen from Julian’s
kisses.
Willow reached up and touched her face. Was this really her?
Since then, life at Grandview Manor turned out to be better than she had expected.
Julian had kept his promise. Willow received the 500 million dollars in cash, along with a 5% stake in Nebula Group. His decision caused an uproar within the Ziegler family. Even his parents couldn’t understand it.
But Julian bore the weight of it all.
He treated Willow well–too well. He didn’t force her to sleep with him, as if giving her time to adjust.
He often called to have meals with her, though sometimes he would break his promises.
Willow never asked where he went or who he was with. Just as they had agreed from the start, she was here for the money and the doctor, not for love.
Meanwhile, Grace’s surgery plan was nearly finalized.
As for her career, Willow had never put it on hold. Everything continued to move forward, just as she had planned.
A week later, the day of Timothy’s banquet arrived.
Julian had an important meeting that morning, so he arranged for Esther to bring a styling team to Grandview Manor to help Willow prepare.
The Zieglers were wealthy, and the team was, of course, the best.
Upon arriving at the villa, Esther couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe.
She hadn’t expected Willow to return to Julian’s side so soon. More importantly, Willow hadn’t begged to come back. Julian had paid a steep price to bring her
home.
A 5% stake in Nebula Group was an astronomical fortune. Yet, Willow didn’t seem the least bit pleased.
Blair led the team upstairs, smiling as they walked. “Mrs. Ziegler is reading in the lounge. These days, if she’s not at the hospital, she’s here at home with her books. She has even gained a little weight.”
Esther mused to herself. It seemed Willow truly no longer cared for power.
Blair directed them to a private dressing room before heading off to inform Willow.
Five minutes later, Willow arrived. She wore a soft pink silk robe. Her hair fell loosely over one shoulder. She had no makeup on, yet her skin was smooth and
luminous.
Esther immediately noticed the difference.
In just a short time, Willow’s sharp edge had faded. Now, she looked gentle, like a noblewoman kept in quiet luxury.
However, her methods had probably not softened in the slightest.
Willow smiled faintly.
She had always been beautiful, but when she smiled like that, it was mesmerizing.
The stylist took an instant liking to her and eagerly introduced the high–end dresses she had brought. Among them, she strongly recommended a white evening
dress.
Willow’s fingers brushed lightly over the fabric.
She had her eye on a beaded dress from Musemarry, a brand by a rising designer.
It was an intricately crafted strapless dress, layered with a matching sheer cape. The three fasteners were antique glass pearls, giving it a vintage elegance with an ethereal touch.
The stylist was stunned.
It was as if this dress had been made for Willow. Only someone with her slender figure could carry it so effortlessly.
The stylist adored beautiful women.
