It was late at night, but Willow wasn’t sleeping. She kept replaying what Julian had said to her in her head.
He said that she was the only woman he had ever been with and that he wouldn’t see any other women. He said he would learn to be a good husband and told her to trust him.
Amidst the bright lights, Willow’s face was calm as she thought, “Can I really trust you again, Julian?”
Dark clouds were gathering outside the window, and thunder could be heard in the distance.
For the next two days, Julian didn’t call her. Willow wanted to stay nonchalant, so she didn’t call him, either.
On the third morning, Willow woke up early. When she went downstairs to have breakfast, Blair was stunned. “Are you going to the hospital to pay your grandmother a visit, Mrs. Ziegler?”
Willow took a sip of milk and smiled. “Julian is coming back from a business trip, so I’m going to pick him up from the airport.”
Blair was overjoyed. “You two are so lovey–dovey.”
Willow didn’t respond. Once she was done with breakfast, she drove to the airport herself.
Having been married for so many years, the two of them had a sort of silent understanding. Julian liked taking private flights at 7:00 am, so he would reach Brindley at around 9:00 am if he was coming from Yarrowmere. It was the perfect time for Willow to set off.
She was in quite a good mood. After getting in the car, she took her phone out to look at the QR code again. She was really looking forward to the concert.
After starting the car, she turned on the radio. The song “Melody” started playing, slowly flowing into the car and making Willow feel refreshed.
Willow focused on driving. She was on the highway when the sky suddenly turned gloomy. Dark clouds covered the sky of Brindley, and a few snowflakes began falling, which shocked Willow. It was only the beginning of December, but it was already snowing.
Thankfully, it wasn’t snowing that heavily, so she arrived at the airport without any incident. Willow could have waited in the parking lot, but she gave it some thought and decided to get out of the car and wait at the exit. Julian said that he wanted to see her sooner, after all.
Willow had dressed up that day. She was wearing a white cashmere coat, and there was a pearl brooch with a lily of the valley on her collar, which made her look beautiful and elegant. She stood at the exit, patiently waiting for Julian to arrive.
Willow tried calling Esther’s phone instead, but Esther was on a flight back to Brindley, so she couldn’t pick up. The same went for Julian and the others.
