The morning light pierced through the thin mist, casting a soft glow into the bedroom.

Willow was packing her belongings. Aside from a few sets of clothes and Snowy, she didn’t take much.

It only took her a few minutes to gather everything. Then, it was time to leave the Ziegler residence.

The bedroom door swung open, and Julian stepped inside.

Moments ago, he just had a heated argument with Melanie. She accused him of hiding Willow’s condition, while he felt she was being heartless and unreasonable.

The moment he entered the room, he saw Willow bending over, folding the sheets, which still held the warmth from the night before.

Julian walked toward her and wrapped his arms gently around her waist.

He didn’t say a word, but Willow understood what he meant.

He didn’t want a divorce.

She found it absurd, yet she still chose to respond calmly.

“Julian, look at how humiliating this marriage has been for me. Today, everyone heard that I couldn’t bear children.

“I can’t stay here after such an embarrassing episode. I can’t stand the way they’ll look at me.”

His voice was hoarse. “What do you plan to do after you leave?”

Willow thought for a moment before replying, “I’ll just live as an ordinary woman. Maybe I’ll remarry, maybe I won’t.

“Either way, I won’t be your wife anymore.”

Julian’s voice grew even raspier. “What if I tell you I don’t care? That it doesn’t matter whether we have children or not?”

Willow was taken aback at first, but she simply didn’t believe him.

Julian was the CEO of Nebula Group. He would need an heir eventually.

Furthermore, he was never the kind of man who put love above all else. There was no love between them, to begin with.

Words spoken in a moment of impulse couldn’t be trusted.

Willow just smiled faintly.

Julian held her tightly, his throat aching. “Willow, it was very painful that night, wasn’t it?”

Wrapped in his embrace, she could feel the warmth radiating from his body, momentarily soothing the scars of the past.

After a while, she said calmly, “It doesn’t hurt anymore.

“Julian, now that everything is out in the open, I feel relieved and free. I no longer have to hide and worry about people discovering my secret.

“It’s time to let go. Julian, I have to leave.”

Julian refused to divorce her, but he said he would give Willow space.

Willow had initially asked the driver to fetch her, but Julian insisted on driving her himself.

Willow didn’t refuse.

Just as Grace had once said, people didn’t come to this world to hate anyone.
