Jasper’s eyes lit up, and he said, “Yes, I actually feel the same as you. So I‘m thinking, maybe it’s not our dad who is eager to get married, but Aunty May. If she really has other intentions, it’s useless for you to come back now. Why don’t we do this? I’ ll ask someone to investigate Aunty May, and you can come back when everything is checked out. How about that?”

Wendy thought about it for a while. She still had a lot of things to take care of in Harbor City. Just today, she made an appointment with Anna that they would meet a few important overseas clients tomorrow. In addition, she still had a lot of contracts to deal with, and she really could not step away, so she could only nod and say, “Well, I’ll let you handle the matter with my dad.”

Jasper smiled. “Who are you to me? Why are you being so polite to me? You should just handle the affairs at Harbor City with peace of mind and leave the family affairs to me.”

After chatting on the phone for a while, the two reluctantly hung up.

The next day, Jasper went to the JW Group headquarters for a short visit as usual. Now that Baz and others had arranged the company’s affairs in an orderly manner, his presence did not make much of a difference, and he was only required to show up when they encountered some more critical issues.

To his surprise, Dawson came to his office.

He stepped forward with some doubts and asked, “Dad, why are you here? Is there something wrong? And where is Aunty May? Is she not with you?”

“Jasper, you came just in time. I need to talk to you about something,” Dawson said excitedly, holding Jasper’s hand.

Jasper’s eyes flashed. “Dad, let’s sit down before we talk.”

Dawson nodded. “Alright, that’s fine with me.”

Jasper pulled Dawson to sit down and asked someone to fetch them tea. Then, he looked at Dawson and asked, “Dad, why did you come to the company?”

After hearing that, Dawson felt a little embarrassed. Then, he said movingly, “Jasper, I was right about you. You are a good boy!”

He said and stood up, “Okay, since you have already agreed, then Iwill go back and tell May to prepare to come to work in the company in these two days.”

Jasper nodded and asked his assistant outside to escort Dawson away.

After a while, Baz walked in. “Mr. Laine, what did you say to Mr. Schuler just now? He seems like he was in a good mood when he left.”

Jasper glanced at him and said, “You came just in time. I have something to tell you, my father-in-law’s girlfriend will come to work in the company soon. You can make the arrangements when the time comes. You can just pay her salary and benefits with the money in my personal account.”
