Remy got back to her feet with a bleeding lip. "What the hell was that for?" She stupidity asked.
"Judy found your phone. And I got access to it and saw all the fucking text messages between you and Audrey!" I yelled.
"I don't know what you're talking about." She lied.
"You don't know?" I asked as I tried to get away from Josh so I can knock some more sense into her.
"Sacha! Calm down! Remember, you're pregnant! You can't be lashing out at your friend like this." Josh restrained.
"We're no longer friends. You set up my man to get hurt and got my sister caught in the middle of it as well. I hate you. I wish we were never friends!" I spat at Remy.
"I'm sorry." She said.
"Sorry? You're sorry? You could have gotten Christian, the father of my child, killed. And my sister too, you dumb bitch! I swear, if I wasn't pregnant, I would have beaten you silly. Get the fuck out of my house. Take all your shit and leave!"
"Sacha. You don't understand. Audrey is blackmailing me. She said that she'll tell the cops I was the one who killed my mother."
"I DON'T CARE! I don't give a damn about the shit you got going on with Audrey because if you weren't still friends with her, she wouldn't have known anything. Get out of my house. Our friendship is over."
Remy had tears in her eyes and it was the first time I didn't feel an ounce of pity for her. She had crossed the line. A line that could never be fixed once being damaged and that line is drawn between my sister.
Judy was the only family I had left and I made a vow to protect her.
Remy had to leave and our friendship had to be canceled immediately and effectively.
I watched as she gathered her things and called a cab.
"By the way, the police has all your information. Audrey is wanted and you knew where she was all this time and you gave her information on Christian's whereabouts that Sunday. That makes you an accessory and they'll be coming for you. Have fun and rot in jail because I'll not be coming to your rescue ever again." I told her before she walked through the door.
"What if she runs?" Josh asked.
"Then she'll be running for the rest of her miserable life." I answered.
"I think I'll stay with you tonight, just in case. If that's okay?"
"Of course. You can have the guest bedroom." I told him.
I'll sleep better knowing that Josh was here although the security system was still in place.
It was midnight that same night when I heard what sounded like broken glass, a gunshot and a crash from downstairs.
The security system started alarming.
"Josh?" I rolled out of bed and turned on the switch that controlled the lights around the house.
The entire house was lit and as I got to the top of the stairs, my heart raced.
Dressed all in black, stood Audrey and next to her, was Remy.
Josh laid motionless in front of them in a pool of blood with a bullet wound in his temple.
"JOSH!!" I screamed.
"You still have another one. He's in the hospital." Audrey said and made movements towards me. I ran back into my bedroom, slammed the door shut, locked it and dialed the emergency number on my cellphone.
Audrey shot through the door's handle and the lock was disengage. She reached me, tugged me by the hair and threw me onto the floor.
"Payback is always a bitch, huh?" Remy asked. She was in my bedroom now with a nasty smirk on her face.
"You destroyed my life, my wedding day and my relationship with my man of my dreams. You're carrying his child and he hated when I spoke about kids! But here you are, bringing one into this world and he's happy about that but not for long! Get Up!" Audrey yelled in my face.
I got up and she pointed the gun at my forehead.
"Sister?" Judy's voice sounded. She was in her wheelchair watching in from outside my bedroom.
Remy turned to her, grabbed her and threw her to the floor.
"LEAVE HER ALONE!" I yelled.
"So you found my cellphone, huh?" Remy said as she hovered over Judy. She landed a kick on Judy's injured leg and my sister screamed in pain.
"Maybe I should break your hands so you wouldn't touch." Remy told her and went for her arms.
Something ignite inside of me. Pure rage. I knocked the gun out of Audrey's hand and caught it in my own right before I kicked her in the stomach. She hunched over and I used the gun and knocked her out cold with it.
Remy saw and made a run for you but I caught her before she went out the door and I put a bullet in her spine. She fell in pain and agony.
The police arrived minutes later. They handcuffed a knocked-out Audrey and took Remy to the hospital.
Josh's body was also removed.
"I'm so sorry, Josh. You were a great friend." I whispered as the scene was being cleared up. Josh heard the breaking of the glass and went to intervene and it was when they shot him in the temple.
I knew I couldn't stay in the house for the remainder of the night. I booked a hotel room and took Judy along with me.
