Wilbur frowned. It was just his luck that he would run into something like this.

What did he have to do with this at all? His car had not moved in the slightest, and this old lady was claiming he had hit her. That was so unfair!

He said, "I can take you to the hospital, but let's be clear here. I didn't hit you."

"You have to be responsible for what you've done, young man! You clearly hit me, how could you say you didn't?"

The old woman grabbed Wilbur's shirt tightly as if she was clinging on for dear life.

Wilbur said, "I really have nothing to do with this, ma'am. Let me take you to the hospital so you can get your leg checked out."

Just then, Whitney and Steve happened to be making their way out. They stopped in their tracks at the sight before them.

Whitney hurried over at once. "What happened here, ma'am?"

"This young man hit me with his car, and he's trying to deny it! Young people these days really are awful," the old lady sobbed, wiping at her tears.

Whitney shook her head at Wilbur. "Wow, you being a scammer was the least of it! Not only are you a scammer, but you're shameless too. I can't believe you're refusing to admit you hit this poor woman."

"Don't worry, ma'am. We're here to help! I'm an eyewitness. He's not getting away this time," Steve chuckled.

Whitney looked at Wilbur, shaking her head. "You've really done it now. I don't think I've ever met someone quite this shameless. You're on another level."

"Watch your tone," Wilbur fumed.

Steve shouted, "Did you just threaten Whitney? Are you tired of living?"

Whitney shook her head. "I'll leave this to you then, Mister Chevor. I don't want to be involved with people like him, he's disgusting. It's getting late. The school gate's going to close soon."

"Well, I could send you back." Steve panicked visibly.

Whitney shook her head. "No, it's fine. I'll get myself a taxi. You stay as a witness for the poor lady, and make sure the police teach this bastard a good lesson. God knows how many more people might fall victim to him in the future otherwise."
