"I can tell you now that it won't be my boss here who gets it. Try not to cry later, alright?" Skyler jeered.

Steve paused, before bursting out laughing. "Your boss, huh? I'll call you daddy if he doesn't end up behind bars, how's that?"

Skyler's expression darkened. He was about to teach Steve a lesson, but Wilbur stopped him.

Steve called out at once, "Officer Myre, look! They were going to attack me. How violent of them."

Victor frowned. "Stop starting more trouble."

"He's the one causing trouble, not us," said Wilbur coldly.

Victor frowned. "We'll put a clamp on your car for now. You're coming back with us."

"I'd think this through if I were you. Steve is making false statements. You might lose your job if you go through with this," said Wilbur coldly.

Victor furrowed his brows. He did not know for sure if Steve was telling the truth either, because he had not investigated the case yet.

But Steve had told Victor just now that his father was in charge of the south district, and Steve himself was a city superintendent. Seeing as they were in the south district, Victor had not questioned it too much.

To be honest, Victor had only done so because he had no other choice. Steve was sure to give him a hard time if he went against Steve's wishes, but Victor still felt guilty about it.

Just then, Steve shouted, "How dare you threaten an officer! You've got to teach these bastards a lesson, Officer Myre."

Victor sighed, looking at Wilbur with a frown. "Come on, just follow me. I'll try to give you the lowest sentence possible."

Steve snatched the phone from Victor. He glanced at the video, then deleted it at once. "Where the hell did you even get that? You can barely see who's in it. Who are you trying to fool? Take him away this very second, Myre. I'll be waiting for an update."

The old lady's son and husband spoke up as well, "Yes, he can't get away with this! Also, this is barely enough money! Ten thousand dollars is hardly going to cover the ambulance fees."

The old lady was currently lying on the ground, howling in pain as if she was going to die.

Victor was on the verge of tearing his hair out. He turned to Wilbur and whispered, "How about you just cooperate with us for now, and I'll try to find a way to mediate the situation. You might have to pay up a little, so you won't have to serve any time, how's that?"
