She flew to her feet, eyeing Jayla coldly. "I was invited by the vice chairman of the film festival committee! Are you saying I don't have the right to be here?"

"So what if I am?" Elise refused to back down either.

Jayla flushed an ugly shade of purple, like a child who had been caught stealing.

"I'm telling you, you don't want to mess with me. Remember what you said!" Jayla shouted.

Elise snorted. "Who do you think you're scaring?"

Elise came from a family worth billions and was standing right next to Wilbur. She definitely had way more of a right to be here compared to Jayla.

Just as Jayla was about to reply, Jacques came over with a frown. "What's going on here?"

"Mister Jacques, these two have been extremely disrespectful. I don't think personalities like this should even be at this banquet. In fact, I suspect they snuck in here. I hope you can find out who these people are and kick them out if they don't have the right to be here."

Jacques showing up had given Jayla some courage as well.
