Esha wiped the blood away from the corner of her mouth, coming up to Wilbur shakily as she stared at the three corpses on the ground with an unreadable expression.
"You killed them?" At last, that was all she managed to say.
Wilbur glanced at her. "What, was I supposed to keep them around?"
Esha did not know what to say.
She was a firm believer in morals, rules, and laws. She felt that those three things kept order in the world.
Committing a crime would result in punishment by law, and you had to pay if you murdered someone.
Yet she had just witnessed Wilbur kill three people but could not even say anything about it.
She wanted to speak but felt that the words refused to come out of her mouth.
The world was so different from what she had known growing up.
Wilbur inspected the three corpses with his spirit energy before scoffing and shaking his head. "Broke losers."
He looked at Esha after that. "Go home. You shouldn't have come here."
Yet Esha's gaze was on the stone door. "I know all of you came for this. I'd like to know what's inside, too."
Wilbur fell silent for a beat before saying, "I hope you've thought it through. It might be really dangerous there, and I can't guarantee even my own safety, let alone yours."
"I'm not afraid. I'd like to know the truth about this world," Esha said firmly.
"Even if it kills you?"
"Even if it kills me."
Wilbur wasted no time coming up to the stone door and putting a hand on it.
Spiritual energy surged out of his palm as the door lit up with runes, slowly opening up.
There was nothing before the door, only the old formation surrounding it for a few minutes.
This was nothing like the world she had come from. It seemed more like something from an ancient television series.
Wilbur strode forward, and Esha followed behind him nervously.
Barely two steps in, however, Esha knelt on the ground and began puking once more.
Wilbur could only hoist her up, and soar forwards.
Not long after, the two of them arrived in a small town.
About a hundred people were surrounding the lady just now in the middle of the city, all of them either women, old people, or children.
Wilbur watched silently with Esha from a distance.
The black bear had collapsed to the ground, and the lady was sobbing as she held the man's body in her arms.
The man struggled to open his eyes, stroking the lady's face. "I'm sorry I have to leave you before you grow old."
