"How dare you!"

"Marie is a Jonan, and her antiques belong to the Jonan family. You can't just buy them off like that!"

"Let me speak, Uncle Greg," the young man spoke up then, and Greg let out a sigh before retreating to the side.

"Sure, Pratt. You talk to him."

The young man took two steps forward, smiling at Wilbur with an outstretched hand. "Hello, Mister Penn. My name is Pratt Jonan, grandson of Walton Jonan, the current head of the Jonan clan."

Wilbur did not shake Pratt's hand, merely smiling and nodding. "My apologies, but I'm not interested in knowing about your family affairs. Mister Greg here should have explained it to you well enough. I'm sure you know that I obtained those antiques through completely legal methods, so I don't see why it would be deemed null."

Pratt paused for a beat, before smiling at Wilbur. "I know you purchased the collections through Madam Marie, but those antiques are very important to our clan. I wonder if you would be so kind as to sell them back to us, Mister Penn."

"I'm Dashan, Mister Pratt. A big part of those collections were treasures from my country, and I've already returned them to the national museum in my country."

"What about the rest then? Could you sell those to us?"

Wilbur was a little confused. Aside from the two hundred or so items containing spiritual energy, there was nothing really special about the rest of the collections. Why would the Jonans want them back?

Cape owned the biggest consignment business in the entire world, where tens of billions of dollars' worth of transactions happened every single day.

Also, Wilbur could not help but feel a little sorry for Madam Marie and her father. The Jonan clan could have bought over the collections anytime, but Greg had done no such thing.

Greg and the rest of Walton's side of the Jonan clan had just been waiting around before Wilbur appeared. These people seemed to be waiting for some kind of opportunity to strike, and it was clear that Albus' death was a big part of that.

Once that happened, Madam Marie would have even less power. She would not even have the right to handle the antiques then. The internal conflict of the seemingly peaceful Jonan clan was much, much more vicious than Wilbur expected.

A good portion of the antiques that had been put under consignment would have been sold off by now. If Pratt and Greg came to see Wilbur for the gloves, those men could forget about ever seeing those gloves again.
