Jack widened his eyes. He was no more than a Junior Guard. If Saber was here, the two of them might have a shot at defeating a Firetree Python together. But if the python had evolved into a wyrm, Jack and his men would not stand a chance.

Jack and the rest of the soldiers left the tree. After it was dark out, Wilbur, who was mostly recovered, carried Steward Horne to the cave he had been cultivating in.

Steward Horne was in a very weak state by then, and he said, "You don't have to do this, young man. I'm in a pretty bad state, and it's impossible for me to get treated in Buck Town now. I can't be saved, Wilbur. However, I'm still very grateful for your help."

"Don't speak too much, Steward Horne. You're pretty banged up. Trust me, I can help you."

Wilbur sat down cross-legged behind Steward Horne. His hands began to emit a white glow, and he pressed them onto Steward Horne's back as he channeled the power of light into his body.

"Ah, that's nice."

Wilbur was unsure if the Child of Light Steward Horne mentioned was the senior he had met before, but he was going to try his best to save Steward Horne since he had decided to. The power of light and dragon aura both had healing properties, but the dragon aura was far too aggressive. Anyone who was not from the dragon clan might not be able to take it, thus Wilbur could only use the power of light.

He channeled the power of light into Steward Horne's body and watched as the wounds healed themselves. He stopped after they were completely healed up, leaving Steward Horne to rest on the stone bed.

Three days later, Steward Horne finally stirred. Tears welled up in his eyes as they landed on Wilbur, and Steward Horne reached out to grab him by the hands. "I, Felix Horne, pledge my loyalty to the honorable Child of Light."

"There's no need for that, Steward Horne. You should focus on resting, we can talk about this after you're fully recovered."
