Felix's plan, despite being a pretty solid one, was still too rash for the time being. Besides, Felix has yet to recover fully. Wilbur could only console him, telling him that they could postpone their escape plan for a later day.
Throughout the next month, Wilbur would go hunting late at night and cook up some good food. He would eat with Felix in the cave, and then continue cultivating.
Time sped by, and Felix's injuries had finally completely recovered. Due to the freezing weather, Wilbur collected some firewood and lit a fire in the cave. There was a breeze blowing into the cave that night, and thus they did not have to worry that the fire would go out.
Felix got off the stone bed, stretching his body before walking up to the fire. "Master, have you thought about the plan I proposed to you a month ago? When are we getting out of here?"
Wilbur stoked the fire with a branch, sparks kicking up from the breeze outside. He stared at them calmly, saying, "I've considered it a long time ago, Senior Horne. I'll be honest with you. I can't wait to get out of Buck Town myself. However, upon further consideration, I don't think that we'll be able to do that in the foreseeable future."
Felix frowned. "Why not? Are you questioning my capabilities, Master?"
"Take a look at this, please."
Felix took out a sack of coins, handing it to Wilbur. Wilbur peeked inside and furrowed his brows. "Gold coins?"
"Alright." Felix nodded, then asked, "What are we going to do now, Master?"
"Well, leaving isn't an option. It's a good thing that Buck Town's big enough, though. As long as we stay hidden while we cultivate in these mountains, we'll get a chance to leave eventually."
Felix was no fool and nodded in agreement to Wilbur's words at once. After a brief pause, he said, "I'm sorry for dragging you into this, Master."
"No, don't say that. Buck Town is a dangerous place as it is. I would have made other enemies even if I hadn't run into you. The fighting here will never end, and you can't avoid making enemies."
