Not long after, the guard brought Dalton and Dino in. They came up to Wilbur and Edmund, sinking into a bow.

"Dalton at your service, Lord Edmund."

"Dino at your service, Lord Edmund."

Edmund glanced at Wilbur before waving a hand. "At ease. Why are you here today, Mister Dalton?"

Dalton said, "Lord Edmund, the Dragon Slayer Organization messed up a few days ago. I'm here to apologize to you on behalf of the organization and hope you accept it along with this gift."

Dalton waved a hand, and Dino stepped forward to set a black wooden box down on the table. Edmund glanced at the box. It looked pretty normal, with no patterns on it. Knowing that Dalton was never the type to send out bad gifts, Edmund frowned and asked, "What's this?"

"Please open the box, Lord Edmund," said Dalton.

"Okay."

Edmund stared at the box for a beat before reaching out to open it but was promptly stopped by Wilbur.

Edmund glanced at the Black Jade Pearl. "I did kill Hanson and the rest of those men, yes. But you should know, Dalton, that I'm the lord of Buck Town. We have our rules, and Hanson and the others broke them when they broke into my quarters in the middle of the night. I had no choice but to kill them."

"You're right, Lord Edmund," said Dino. "Sir, I think Mister Dalton means for the Black Jade Pearl to be an apology gift. He hopes to put an end to the misunderstanding between you and the Dragon Slayer Organization."

"A misunderstanding? Are you calling me killing Hanson and the others a misunderstanding? Listen up. There was no misunderstanding of any sort. They disrespected me as City Lord, breaking into my quarters in the middle of the night. Naturally, I had to kill them."

Dino scrambled to say, "Yes, yes, of course. You're absolutely right, Lord Edmund. Hanson deserved to die for breaking into your quarters with his men. What I'm saying is that there might be a misunderstanding here."
