"Yes, Lord Edmund."
Edmund's men snuck over to the Chris family grounds after receiving the order and returned after doing a good deal of snooping.
"Lord Edmund, we found out that Felix returned to Buck Town alone."
"Oh?"
Edmund smirked at those words. "That means that Wilbur and Augheimer died in battle, then! Ha, they sure deserved it."
Conrad shrugged. "I told you, Lord Edmund. There's no way Wilbur and Augheimer would survive Dalton's wrath."
Edmund was nothing but smug. "Have someone ask around for news on Dalton and see if he came back."
There was a response in no time, as Edmund's men knelt before him. "Dalton has not returned after leaving the Dragon Slayer Organization."
"Oh? Dalton didn't come back either? Could it be that both he and Wilbur perished in battle?"
Conrad looked ecstatic. "That would be wonderful, Lord Edmund."
"No."
Edmund's smile slid off his face. "If Dalton died in battle, his brother Lord Hadirt would come looking for him for sure. Hadirt is far from nice. If he shows up in Buck Town, it's bad news for both you and me."
"Hadirt?" Conrad looked rather confused. "But we didn't do this. It was Wilbur who killed Dalton."
"But Wilbur is dead, and that leaves Hadirt with nowhere to vent his anger! He's bound to lash out against us!"
Hadirt sneered. "There are less than three people in the middle dimension who can last more than three rounds against me. I'm not scared of one Wilbur Penn. Take me to him."
"He's at the Chris family grounds."
Edmund looked meaningfully at Conrad, who said at once, "Please come with me, Lord Hadirt."
It was not long before Conrad arrived at the Chris family grounds with Hadirt and some guards in tow. The guard watching the gates was about to stop them, but quickly put his sword away at the sight of Conrad. "Hello, Lord Conrad. May I know why you're visiting all of a sudden?"
"Cut the crap and get Wilbur Penn out here!"
"Mister Penn hasn't returned since he left earlier today. Is anything the matter, Lord Conrad?"
