Wilbur looked at his bloody fist, his eyes widening in shock.

"That's… That's impossible…"

"That's very possible."

Felix hurried over to Wilbur. "You've been idle for a year, Master. You haven't been cultivating and only spent your time drinking and wasting away. It's only normal that your body has weakened."

"How could this be?"

"I think there are too many Tricorpse Beetles in your body from all the drinking, Master. Your energy's a lot weaker, but you've thankfully only been idle for a year. As long as you get to cultivating again, I'm sure you'll be able to restore your powers."

"No, I know what state I'm in right now. Wait, what did you just say?"

"You haven't been cultivating, and only spent your time drinking and wasting away so it's only normal that your body's weakened."

"Not that! You mentioned some sort of beetle…"

"Tricorpse Beetles, Master. They're formed out of greed for food, lust, and fame. If a cultivator is too idle, the Tricorpse Beetles in their body will grow more and more powerful. They can even take control of the host's body and force them into doing things they want."

After Felix was gone, Wilbur set up a Dragon Trap Formation on the ground. He was trying to strip any spirit senses that did not belong to him out of his body using the power from the formation, thus killing the Tricorpse Beetles.

The formation was completed soon after but required Wilbur to channel his energy into it to be activated. Upon attempting to do so, Wilbur found that the energy he could control was too weak to even channel into the formation, let alone activate it.

He barked out a laugh of despair, but there was nothing he could do. Wilbur entered his demiplane as a last resort, seeing if he could try his luck with the Dragon's Altar.

Just as he had entered the demiplane, a cold voice rang from the air above him. "How long have you stopped cultivating for, Wilbur? Your body is almost the same as a regular mortal's! What kind of cultivator does that make you? You're supposed to be a dragon clan cultivator!"

Wilbur fell to his knees, sobbing as he said, "Honorable Dragon God! Edmund did this to me! The Tricorpse Beetles in my body have grown so much that I can't cultivate normally. I'm useless, Honorable Dragon God. Please show me the way, please!"
