The two men seemed to be discussing a transaction of sorts. After a brief conversation, the red-haired man handed a storage ring to Conrad. They parted ways then, heading in different directions.

Wilbur emerged from behind the tree. He looked to the left, then the right before running in the direction Conrad had headed.

Conrad was despicable, but Edmund was ultimately Wilbur's biggest enemy. Wilbur did not want to cause any alarm, so he just followed Conrad all the way back to Tevinter Town. Perhaps Conrad might lead him to Edmund.

Unfortunately, Wilbur lost Conrad at a junction on the way back. He looked around, but Conrad was nowhere to be seen. It was getting darker, and Wilbur ended up heading back to the Robert family.

Ramos handed Wilbur another letter as soon as he got back, and he opened it back in his room. Augheimer had written to him saying that Odysseus had already sent his men over to ask about Adela. Ramont had told them that Adela had planned to stay in Tevinter Town for three months before heading back, and the men believed him and left.

Wilbur heaved a sigh of relief upon reading the letter. Odysseus must have thought that Adela and Ramont had been discussing the management of Tevinter Town, something that Augheimer himself had been rather interested in. It was perfectly understandable that Adela would want to stay on for a little longer.

Now, Wilbur had three months to activate the formation again. If he was successful, he would be able to flee to the upper dimensions and save himself from Odysseus' wrath. However, there was something Wilbur had to do before that—killing Edmund.

Had Wilbur not seen Conrad, he might have considered letting Edmund go. But since Conrad was here, that meant Edmund had to be in Tevinter Town as well. Edmund had screwed Wilbur over multiple times, trying to get him killed.

There was no way in hell Wilbur was letting Edmund go now. The bastard was far too cunning and sneaky, and he would definitely be a huge problem for Wilbur in the future if he was still alive. Even if Wilbur did manage to advance to the upper dimensions, Edmund would surely do something to Felix.

No Conrad meant no way of finding Edmund, so Wilbur had no choice but to give his plan up and go back to reading up on the dimensional portal.

After three days of research, Wilbur found a way to activate the dimensional portal. There were countless cultivators in the middle dimensions who had formed special soul bonds with upper dimension cultivators, gaining their protection through contributing gold coins.

The upper dimension cultivators would send some spells, weapons, or armor to the middle dimensions through a special formation straight to the cultivators they had signed the soul bond with.

Now, all Wilbur had to do was set up a formation to reach out to the upper dimension cultivators and then bond his soul with one of them.
