Walter gulped. Wilbur had him sit down as he poured him a mug of tea.

Walter took a sip, calming himself down before saying, "I'm a lawyer from Anya City, representing Mister Ethan Osborn. He's been locked up by some very powerful people that I can't handle. Ethan told me to come looking for you. He said you'd help for sure.

Wilbur's expression darkened at once.

Ethan had been a member of the Abyss Mercenaries back then. He was one of Wilbur's men.

Back when the Abyss Mercenaries had disbanded, Wilbur had told everyone that they could come looking for him in Seechertown if anything were to happen to them.

It seemed like this ex-teammate of his had really run into some trouble.

It was important to note that everyone on the Abyss Mercenaries was incredibly skilled in combat and would be the top soldier in any army they were put in.

Wilbur had also left every single member with up to ten million dollars in severance, so money was definitely not the issue.

Walter nodded, taking another sip of tea before saying, "Ethan's been in engineering for the past few years. He's been doing pretty well. He's made millions and even started his own engineering company."

"That sounds good, no?" Wilbur asked.

Walter shook his head. "Right at the start of the year, he took up a huge project that he put all his assets into within half a year. However, the client did not pay Ethan a single penny for anything even after Ethan had asked for payment many times. Because of that, a fight broke out with Ethan injuring several people."

Wilbur looked at him. "What's there to prepare?"

"The William family is extremely powerful in Anya City, and it's undeniable that Ethan killed Joel William's son. It's going to be a pain to handle. I'm sure Joel isn't going to budge regardless of how much money you throw at him. At this point, I think it'll be better for you to call someone more powerful to bear down on him from above. With that, maybe Ethan might be able to die an easy death," Walter said.

Wilbur sneered. "No, I won't be doing that. Ethan isn't going to die, nor is he going to jail. However, Joel's going to pay."

Walter stopped short. He knew that Wilbur was definitely a rich man to own a place like Sealake Island. However, money was hardly a problem for Joel either. Besides, Anya City was Joel's territory.

The William family had been around for ages and had connections everywhere. Was Wilbur actually about to fight against him?
