Steve hardly dared to breathe, shaking from head to toe where he stood.

The old woman and her family were hell-bent on blaming Wilbur, but the undeniable proof and Elsa's authority made them cower as they looked around anxiously, trying to assess the situation at hand.

Faron smirked. "Framing someone is against the law, you know. Once we get to the bottom of this, we're going to confiscate the old lady's pension and then decide what to do with you."

The old woman's son and husband panicked at the mention of her pension being confiscated.

"You can't do that! What right do you have?"

"Well, she broke the law. Did you think she would be above the law just because she was old? Ridiculous," said Faron coldly.

The old lady panicked as well. She clambered to her feet at once, yelling, "Like hell you're going to take my pension away from me!"

It seemed like the old lady was fine aside from a slight limp. She even looked spunkier than a teenager.

Faron smirked. "Keep throwing a fit, and I just might."

The old lady finally backed down under Faron's looming authority. Losing her pension would be the end of her.

Wilbur spoke up coldly then. "Just tell the truth, ma'am. Did I have anything to do with you falling down?"

"No, not at all." The old woman hung her head, devoid of any of the snark and stubbornness from before.

"And you two?" Wilbur turned to the old woman's son and husband.

Both men shook their heads profusely as well, and the son said, "No, of course not. We'll take her to the hospital ourselves, yeah?"

The family was scared out of their wits, going pale in the face under Elsa and Faron's air of authority.

Following that, Wilbur walked up to Steve. "I'm not going to tell you who you can or can't date, but abusing your power and trying to frame an innocent person for breaking the law just to get a girl is too much. Whitney's not the girl for you. Honestly, she isn't the girl for anyone."

Steve was scared witless, nodding profusely as he said, "I know, sir, I know now. I'll never speak to Whitney again. I swear on my life."

This man was someone Faron and Elsa clearly respected. Steve would be out of his mind to go against his orders.

Besides, Steve was already cursing Whitney internally a thousand times over in the past ten minutes. He would never have gotten into this mess if it had not been for her.

Even without Wilbur's warning, Steve had sworn to himself that he would kick himself if he ever reached out to Whitney again.
