Chapter 76

Laurence hesitated a bit and continued, "The Jefferson Group was now the Chester Group. John is the chairman of the board of the Chester Group and Esther is the president. Just a few days ago, Chester Group got the billion dollars project of the East Coast Industrial Park …"

Laurence's words sent the Jefferson family to silence.

They suddenly got dispirited.

They used to be condescending towards John, Esther, and Susan.

But all of a sudden, they got to look up to them.

Michael's face darkened and was in deep remorse.

If he had known what would happen, he would never have kicked them out.

But it was all too late now!

Laurence asked hesitantly, "Dad, what should we do now?"

Michael suddenly stood up, "We got to go to Cloud Bay to see Susan tomorrow!"

"But Dad, didn't you say Susan will not be your daughter anymore?" Laurence asked in surprise.

Michael glared at him, "What are you talking about? I'm her father. We're attached by blood. Can I even change that?"

At the same time in the residence of the Jefferson family, a worn TV was suddenly smashed.

Felix got hysterical when he saw Esther and Chris having dinner together on the TV.

His face was bruised and his head was wrapped with gauze.

He was just beaten up by his Pinkerton relatives.

Felix screamed, "Chris, you did this to me! I'll kill you!"

The Pinkerton Jefferson family had withdrawn the one-billion-dollar investment.

Felix and Patrick were broke overnight and had no choice but to move back to the old house.

Felix's wife cannot bear this kind of life and went to her parent's home.

"Dad, what should we do now? We don't have a penny now. We would be starved if we don't do anything."

Patrick lamented.

"What is that supposed to mean …"

Henry looked at Felix and asked in a shaking voice.

Patrick also frowned and asked, "Yeah, dad. What do you mean? This old fart is good for nothing now. How can he help us?"

Patrick cast Henry a hateful look.

Now that Henry could not take care of himself and would often pee on himself, he was always stinky.

How could this old geezer help them?

Felix scorned, "Well, didn't that John always claims himself to be some dutiful son? Now that his father is in such a place, shouldn't he do something?"

"Dad, are you going to …"

Patrick was in shock.

"That's right. I'm going to use this old man to threaten John. He got to give us a fortune so that we can enjoy the rest of our lives!"

Felix glared at Henry and looked fierce.
