Chapter 124
Trevor yelled, “Take her away!”
Angela was trapped in a small, cramped room measuring about ten square meters. The only way she could see outside was through a tiny window. Every day, someone would bring her just enough food to keep her alive, but no one would tell her what was happening beyond those walls.
“Hey! How much longer are you going to keep me locked up?” Angela grabbed the hand of the person at the door and demanded answers
It was a pale–skinned maid. She quickly pulled away and ran off in a panic.
Looking at the biscuit that had fallen on the ground, Angela’s mind raced with worry–not for herself but for Clara and others who might be suffering at the hands of their captors.
Another day went by. In the late evening, at around 5:00 pm or 6:00 pm, they finally let her
out.
“You’re incredibly fortunate. Someone has come to rescue you,” Trevor said in a hoarse
voice as he slouched on the couch.
Angela was taken aback by his appearance–in just three days, he had lost a significant amount of weight and looked sickly. But she didn’t have time to dwell on that at the
moment.
The one who had come to save her was Finn. When she laid eyes on him, she was speechless, feeling both elated and grateful.
She never would have guessed that he’d be the one extending a helping hand when she found herself in such a dire and helpless situation.
Finn’s complexion was pale, and he looked exhausted. It was clear he hadn’t had a decent rest in several days. It appeared that he had gone to great lengths to make it here.
“I have a check for 30 million as you requested,” Finn announced. He was accompanied by
a large group of bodyguards, who seemed just as fierce as Trevor’s men.
Trevor refused to make things easy and corrected him, “Sorry, I meant 30 million Montivalean dollars.” His smile was almost mocking as he gestured for his men to take
Angela away.
Finn pleaded, “Wait! Release her first and give me time to gather the money.”
Angela spoke up coldly, “No! Even if you manage to gather enough funds, he won’t let me go. He’s just waiting for Dexter.”
Angela knew all too well that Trevor had no interest in money. He simply wanted to destroy

everything associated with Dexter. Besides, hekely had more than enough money already.
Finn gritted his teeth in frustration. “No! I can’t just leave you here!”
But Angela was resolute. “Trevor, keep the 30 million and release the others. You can do whatever you want with me. I don’t care if you kill me or torture me.” Her voice was icy and determined, showing that she’d made up her mind.
Trevor said impatiently, “Enough noise. But I suppose it’s not completely unacceptable. Keeping these people here would just be a waste of my manpower.”
One of his black–clad bodyguards stepped forward and took the check from Finn before handing it over to Trevor after a quick verification of its authenticity.
He then said to Finn, “Come with me.”
Finn was hesitant, but he was eventually convinced by Angela’s earnest expression. Feeling conflicted, he finally asked, “But what about you?”
“Killing is against the law. I’m not risking my life. I’m still looking forward to going diving with you again.” Angela smiled, trying to brush off any concerns, her eyes sparkling.
Finn’s demeanor shifted slightly, and he followed the black–clad bodyguard to get Angela’s colleagues.
“What’s wrong with you? Why are you so useless?” Trevor seemed frustrated.
He stared at Angela, hoping to see some trace of worry or fear in her eyes. But he found none. Angela remained calm and composed, seemingly unfazed even in the face of death. Angela sighed with a sense of hopelessness. “Death is inevitable for everyone. It’s only a matter of when it will happen. But I don’t want to die just yet. I’ve been married to Dexter for three long years, and he’s never treated me kindly.
“I still have my life to live, and I want to make the most of it. If you can find it in your heart to let me go, I’ll be eternally grateful.”
Trevor suddenly motioned for one of his bodyguards to come closer.
He said, “Since you are no longer useful to me, why don’t I let my men have some fun with you? It would be a final use for you and a way to spite that heartless, cruel Dexter.”
He smiled wickedly at Angela, who finally showed signs of both fear and anger on her face.
