Right then, a young man burst in from outside. ‘How is that possible? Angie was perfectly fine! How could she be dead? I don’t believe this!”

“My child, we don’t want to believe it either, but the facts are right in front of us. The hospital has already reported that your sister is indeed…” 

As Judy wiped her tears, she lowered her head with reddened eyes, doing her best to 

conceal her excitement. 

What great news! That wretched nuisance was finally gone. 

Once this funeral was over, they could smoothly take over Angela’s property. Selling it would easily fetch them tens of millions. 

“Even if she were dead, there should at least be a body, right?” 

Judy already had her excuse ready. “She’s been cremated. We only brought back the ashes.” 

In reality, they never even managed to enter the hospital. 

However, the staff there had assured them with utmost confidence that Angela was indeed deceased and so badly disfigured that it was not appropriate for the family to view the body 

They further stated that she would be sent to the crematorium for processing.

“My son, don’t cry. You’ll disturb your sister’s rest. Come and mourn for her. She’ll bless you from the afterlife.” Judy pulled Zack toward the memorial altar. 

“Ms. Miller, don’t worry. I can bless him just as well from this side.” At that moment, a clear, crisp female voice rang out from outside. 

Everyone was stunned, instinctively looking toward the source of the voice. 

Ángela stood there, perfectly fine, with Dexter behind her. 

“Y–you… Are you dead or alive? How is this possible?” Judy was utterly dumbfounded, staring at Angela in disbelief while trembling uncontrollably. 

Bill was equally shocked, staring fixedly at Angela as if he had seen a ghost, 

“Can you two not tell whether I’m dead or alive?” Angela raised an eyebrow with a smile. ”

But honestly, I’m not even dead yet, and you’re already so eager to hold a funeral for me. Aren’t you basically cursing me to die?” 

“Yeah! She’s alive and well–what are these two even doing??” 

“Could it be they’re trying to curse her to die so they can inherit her estate?” 

“How can there be such parents in the world? Wait a second–didn’t Judy just say they brought Angela’s ashes back after cremating her?” 

The crowd began murmuring amongst themselves, and the couple instantly became the target of everyone’s scorn. 

“Since this is all a misunderstanding, t–then everyone, please return home,” Bill said hastily after a brief moment of awkwardness and embarrassment. 

The crowd soon left, visibly displeased. 

“Angela, what exactly happened to you? If you’re okay, why didn’t you contact us? You had Judy and me worried sick!” Bill sighed, shockingly shifting the blame to her. 

Angela didn’t bother to explain much. With a faint smile, she said, “It seems to me like you were quite eager for me to die. To cry that loudly in front of an empty coffin–that was quite the performance.” 

The couple’s expressions changed instantly. They racked their brains for an excuse but ultimately failed. 

“It’s all just a misunderstanding,” Judy said with an awkward smile, giving Bill a hard nudge to prompt him to speak up.
