“If you divorce me, you’ll be kicked out of the family. Do you think you’ll gain anything from this?” Marcus stared at her, barely concealing his anger and disdain. 

Fiona froze for a moment, clearly hit where it hurt, but that only lasted for a second. 

“I don’t care,” she answered coldly. 

Both parties‘ legal teams arrived quickly. Marcus desperately tried to secure his interests and keep his shares, but unfortunately for him, Dexter wasn’t someone easy to deal with.

“He’s a good kid. Why didn’t you mention him earlier to bring us some joy? The Bamford family hardly has any descendants, and there are only two sons between you brothers. Isn’t one more child good news?” 

Natalie glared at her eldest son, her hands firmly holding Trevor’s as if Fiona and Angela didn’t exist. 

“What do you mean by this?” Fiona asked Natalie through gritted teeth, her voice heavy. 

Natalie sighed deeply. “Fiona, I advised you long ago to have two or three more children while you were still young to secure your husband’s affection. But you were too focused on your work and ignored my advice. 

“Given this, how can you blame Marcus for going out and having more children with someone else? Now that the child has grown up, you should show generosity and accept him into the family instead of leaving a child of the Bamford family outside to fend for himself. This is the magnanimity and inclusiveness a matriarch of a prominent family should possess.” 

Upon hearing this, Angela was utterly stunned. Wow, what kind of nonsensical logic is this?
