Fiona raised an eyebrow and shot Callum a disdainful look. 

“I’ve already had someone handle this. It won’t be necessary…” 

“No need,” Fiona interrupted, walking over to Angela. “My daughter–in–law is involved in a public scandal, and as her mother–in–law, of course, I need to step in. You can leave this to me. 

With that, she pulled Angela away. 

“Hey, what are you doing? He’s my boss!” Angela tried to pull her hand back, turning to give Callum an apologetic smile. 

But Fiona’s grip was unyielding

She was forcibly dragged out and shoved into a car. 

“Where are we going?” Angela was utterly confused. 

“To have some fun.” Fiona took a deep breath. “Just treat it as keeping me company. I haven’t been out for a stroll in three years, six months, and twelve days.” 

Angela was at a loss for words. 

Damn, she suddenly felt an unexpected twinge of sympathy for this miserable woman. 

After spending most of the day out, they finally returned home, only to find Dexter had already uncovered the mastermind behind the slander and brought them to the house. 

It turned out to be Zion. 

“It wasn’t me! You can’t arrest people without evidence. I’ll sue you!” Zion, tied to a sofa, immediately lost control upon seeing Angela. 

His hatred for her was so intense that it seemed like he wanted to rip her apart. 

Angela wasn’t surprised; she just found him especially despicable. 

“Why go to such lengths?” Angela casually sat on the sofa and poured herself a cup of tea to calm her nerves. 

Zion’s face turned crimson, her eyes burning with rage. 

“I told you, it wasn’t me!” 

Dexter remained calm. “The first post that spread the rumors was uploaded from your personal computer. You also hired a team of Internet trolls to publicize it and manipulate public opinion.” 

His tone was indifferent as if the matter was already under control. He clearly didn’t think much of this fool. 

Angela scanned Zion silently. 

“Was anyone behind this? If you tell me, I can make it less painful for you,” she said. 

A flash of danger passed through Zion’s eyes, but he remained silent. 

“Do you understand what detention means?” Angela’s voice turned cold. “You know how I operate–whoever is behind this, I will make them pay.” 

After a long silence, Zion clenched her teeth, steeled himself, and finally spoke. “It was Nora. She came up with the idea. I just helped carry it out.” 

Meanwhile, Nora sneezed. 

She rubbed her nose but didn’t think much of it. 

How strange. 

Zion, that bastard, still hadn’t replied to her messages. She had no idea where he was off partying. 

He was just a pathetic, desperate lapdog with no money and no status. 

Nora redialed Zion’s number, and it went through this time. 

“Where the hell have you been? Why haven’t you been answering? I thought you were dead!” Nora sounded irritated. 

On the other end of the line, Zion’s voice came through lazily, “I’m drinking at a friend’s place. Want to come over?” 

Nora glanced at her watch–it was already 6:00 pm. 

She didn’t have much to do, so leaving early and having fun wouldn’t hurt. 

After all, a small, insignificant company didn’t always need someone around. 

Since joining Graham Group, Nora had quickly risen to the head of the design department. 

Bill had taken a liking to her, which pleased Nora immensely. 

She gave her assistant a quick word, grabbed her bag, and left. 

She arrived at the agreed club shortly afterward. 

The waiter led her to the designated area, but Nora froze in surprise when she saw who was there.
