Angela assumed it was Finn at the door—he had mentioned wanting to come over for a barbecue. Instead, the household staff returned with someone she least wanted to see.
"Why are you here? You're not welcome. Get out!" Angela's fury ignited the moment she saw him approach. Her expression turned icy, and if not for the presence of others, she might have resorted to more than just words.
"Angela, relax. I'm only here to deliver gifts from Grandpa and Grandma," Trevor said, his arms laden with bags of luxury fruits and supplements.
"I don't want them. Leave now. Don't make me repeat myself!" Angela snapped, rising to her feet as though prepared to throw him out herself.
"Angela, I've apologized already," Trevor said, feigning remorse. "I just got discharged today, and I'm still not feeling well. Do you really want to push me away like this?"
Angela felt her temper flare. She couldn't believe how much he had changed—or perhaps how much more shameless he'd become.
"I'm sorry for what happened," Trevor continued, his voice dripping with contrition. "I had my reasons. If I'd known how strong and resilient you were, I'd never have let you suffer. And honestly, by treating you that way, didn't I help you see who truly cares about you?"
Setting down the bags, Trevor stepped closer, wearing an ingratiating smile.
Angela sneered, raising her hand in mock invitation. "Go ahead. Come closer."
"If you slap me, I'll stay right here," Trevor said with a smirk, settling onto the couch as if he owned the place. "With all the space in this house, one more person wouldn't make much difference."
Angela's patience snapped. "I'll count to three. If you're still here, I'll throw you out myself." Her voice was low and menacing, her expression dark with fury.
"My nose! It's bleeding! You broke it!" Trevor wailed, clutching his face.
She was left speechless, unable to understand why he was so fragile. What unsettled her even more was the sight of Trevor with a serious nosebleed.
Despite her anger, the sight of Trevor's bleeding nose was too much. Reluctantly, she instructed the household staff to tend to him. Trevor sat on the steps outside, looking utterly dejected as the cold wind whipped around him.
"Angela..." he called out weakly, still trying to provoke her.
"I'll deal with him," Dexter said, unable to watch any longer, his expression dark as he stepped forward.
