With his unchanging gentle demeanor, Finn emitted a calm and pleasant air that could put people at ease.

Dexter, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. He was wearing a black jacket, black cargo pants, and black hiking boots.

As he was clad entirely in black, he appeared brooding and intimidating, especially when he wasn't speaking or smiling—he looked like he was ready to pick a fight at any moment.

"What's the matter? Are you hoping I'll hurry up and divorce her so that you can take my place?" Dexter broke his silence after a pause, speaking with biting sarcasm.

Finn scoffed. "Whether you divorce her or not makes no difference to me. My feelings for her aren't something you can compare to."

"Oh?" Dexter smirked. "Does she know that you're that infatuated with her? Is she okay with that? Or are you just deluding yourself while she doesn't care about you at all?"

It was unlike Dexter to talk this much, especially with someone he didn't care for. But today, he was unusually talkative, even if his words were rather unpleasant.

Finn, however, remained unruffled. His gaze softened as it fell on Angela's slender and graceful figure up ahead.

"Even if she doesn't like me now, it doesn't change the fact that I'm a special friend to her. Until she falls for me, I can still remain her close friend, silently looking out for her, unlike you, who always makes her angry."

With that, Finn quickened his pace to catch up with Angela and the others.

"You okay? Need me to carry you for a bit?" Joanne asked Angela.

The group had been walking for over an hour, and Angela was the weakest among them. By now, she was drenched in sweat and panting heavily.

She waved her hand weakly. "No need. Let's take a break and drink some water to replenish our energy."

With that, she sat down on a large rock, propping her hands on her knees and gasping for air.

This mountain was also known as Cat Mountain because wild cats often roamed there. As soon as Angela sat down, she saw a sleek tabby cat dart out from the bushes, circling around her legs and meowing as if begging for food.

"Here. You can feed it this." Finn pulled out two sausages from his bag, tore open the wrappers, and handed them to Angela.

Angela accepted them with a smile, her gaze softening.

She thought of Mitsy, whose temperament was especially gentle. Whenever she returned home, the little cat would climb onto her lap obediently, tilt its head, and ask for pets.

This cat, however, had long, narrow pupils, making it seem more like a little king of the mountain that should not be messed with.

As such, Angela only dared to feed it; she had no intention of petting it.
