Chapter 23 

Angela happened to see the latest comment posted and was initially stunned. Then, she couldn’t help but chuckle softly. 

That commenter had summarized her situation quite accurately. Wasn’t she just a nanny at this point? In fact, she was a super nanny who was stuck looking after the troublesome 

Dexter. 

“Wow, she laughed! There’s no way she’s a nanny. She sounds so young!” 

“Look at her hands. They’re elegant like a pianist’s! I bet she’s an heiress of the Bamford family.” 

“No way. Why would a rich heiress make money via livestreaming?” 

Comments flooded in rapidly, but Angela ignored them and kept her focus on the drawing. Her movements were quick and efficient as always. 

Meanwhile, Dexter had just wrapped up a lengthy conference call and noticed the cold food put on one side of his table. A displeased scowl appeared on his face. 

“Angela!” he called out. 

No one responded. 

One of the maids, who was standing nervously at the doorway, spoke up. “Mrs. Bamford isn’t here.” 

“Where did she go?” Dexter frowned, his expression darkening. 

The maid shook her head, choosing to remain silent. 

Dexter grew impatient and was about to call Angela when Zayn sent him a link to a livestream along with a voice message. 

He said, “Dexter, you should check which of your nannies is slacking off. The more I watch this one, the more familiar she seems.” 

Dexter clicked into the livestream and immediately recognized that familiar pair of hands displaying expert–level drawing skills. The subject of her drawing was none other than. Bamford Estate. 

“Check the security footage and find out which room she’s in,” he ordered coldly. 

Meanwhile, Angela had been completely immersed in her drawing for nearly two hours. She stayed focused and unmoving as she worked. Even though big spenders in the livestream were occasionally giving her extravagant live gifts, she didn’t pay them any 

mind..

Just then, a knock sounded on the door. 

Angela’s heart skipped a beat. Quickly, she stood up and muttered, “Sorry everyone, I’ll have to pause the stream.” 

“Whoa, she showed herself! Look at her slender waist and fair arms.” 

“She must be a real beauty. Do you think she’s about to get caught by the owner? Watch out! 

“I love you! You’re so pretty and fair, like that book character, Ivory Rose.” 

Angela didn’t have time to read the comments. She hurried to the door and looked through the peephole to see Dexter’s face, which was slightly distorted by the lens. 

She hesitated briefly and hid her streaming equipment in the cabinet before opening the door. 

“What are you doing in here?” Dexter stepped in, doing his best to suppress his anger. 

He scanned the room but didn’t see any evidence of her “crime“. 

Angela avoided his gaze and responded, “I was bored, so I came to this room to take a nap. 

Dexter sat on the bed with his legs spread. He was clearly still in pain from his injury. 

“I’ll give you one more chance. Tell me the truth, and I’ll let it slide,” he said domineeringly. His gaze was so sharp that it could pierce through her. 

With her heart in her throat, Angela insisted, “I’m telling the truth.” 

Dexter took a deep breath and casually moved over to open the cabinet opposite the bed. 

Angela panicked and instinctively pushed him back to block his way. Dexter stumbled and landed on the floor. Had he not braced himself, he might have ended up sprawled on the floor. 

At that moment, Angela’s face flushed in embarrassment as she watched Dexter’s expression shift from irritation to outright fury, 

The tension in the air was thick when Dexter finally broke the silence. “Do you have a death. wish, Angela?”
