Zack immediately lifted his leg as if to kick Riley in the thigh.

He was over six feet tall. If he really landed that kick, Riley's leg could very well break.

The startled Riley quickly stepped back to avoid it, but because of her high heels, she stumbled and fell to the ground in an embarrassing manner.

Nevertheless, Zack had only been faking the attack. His foot hovered momentarily before he retracted it, making it clear he had just been trying to scare her.

"Relax. No matter how rude I might be, I'd never actually hit a woman. But you? You're absolutely the worst for encouraging a child to attack a pregnant woman. You're utterly deranged and as shameless as they come!"

Zack sneered coldly, his eyes filled with contempt.

"Not bad. You've recently picked up a few words to argue better, huh?"

Zack scratched his head. "Of course."

At that moment, two waiters came out—one invited them inside to eat while the other helped Riley up.

The crowd around them had been watching the whole thing unfold. From their murmurs, it was clear they all knew exactly who had made a fool of themselves.

Riley's face turned green with anger. Dragging Peggy along, she stomped away.

That evening, after dropping Mia off, Angela returned to the hospital.

She hadn't expected Dexter to be there already, sitting on the couch in her hospital room, seemingly busy with work. Beside him sat a man with black-framed glasses. The latter had a stern, scholarly demeanor.

"Come here." Dexter beckoned her. "This is Dr. Sheldon Larson. He's here to give you a check-up."

Angela was speechless. So what if she liked checking handsome men out? Was that any of his business?

After a few minutes, Sheldon gave his diagnosis. "Due to the body's exposure to something harmful, symptoms such as severe menstrual pain, sensitivity to cold and damp environments, and difficulty conceiving have arisen."

Angela instinctively furrowed her brows. "How do I fix the menstrual pain?"

The fertility issue could wait. Besides, she had no plans to have children anytime soon. The real problem was the cramps—they were unbearable.

"I'll prescribe some medication. Take the medicine three times a day, every day, without fail. Every month, I'll adjust the prescription according to your condition until you're fully recovered. The recovery process will take at least a year, or as long as three to five years—"

"What the heck?" Angela shot up from her seat. "That can't be right! Do I really need to take medicine for such a long time?"

"That's not all. You'll need to be on a special diet. Also, you'll need foot soaks, herbal baths, sweat therapy, and acupuncture," Sheldon added coolly, his words as ruthless as a death sentence.
