Zayn collapsed to the ground, his entire being radiating disbelief. He looked as if he were about to be crushed by this sudden blow.

How could this happen? Why did it happen?

"Zayn, we shouldn't be together anymore. I can't change your parents' mindset. Besides, you already have a fiancée, and our child is gone…"

Mia wiped away her tears, looking utterly shattered. Anyone who saw her would pity her.

Zayn's face turned pale in an instant. He abruptly stood up and grasped Mia's hand. "Don't say that. Please don't. I won't marry anyone else, and I won't be engaged to anyone else. You are my one and only—"

"One and only? She killed your child, you fool! And you're still begging her to stay? For what?" At that moment, Florence's furious voice rang out from outside the hospital room.

Both Zayn and Mia froze. Mia's expression became even more troubled, and her eyes brimmed with unshed tears.

"Wait for me here," Zayn said with a smile. "I'll be right back."

Zayn, however, retaliated without hesitation, berating Florence for transferring Mia's assets without permission and getting Riley to provoke Mia, causing them to lose the baby. He blamed Florence for Mia's decision to leave him. In fact, he blamed all his misery on her.

Everyone in the hospital was shocked. The fight lasted for over half an hour, and Florence ended up fainting from rage.

When Riley arrived and attempted to reprimand Zayn for being a bad son, he also gave her a piece of his mind.

Mia smiled enigmatically, as if to say Angela's situation was the textbook case of how an outsider always had clarity, whereas one would be clueless if one was in the thick of it.

"I'm talking about you and Dexter. What exactly is going on between you two? Even as an outsider, I can tell he's deeply in love with you.

"And you don't dislike him either. So, are you not planning to take the next step?" Mia asked softly, her gaze sharp and insightful as she looked straight into Angela's eyes.

"What feelings? I have no feelings for him. You're overthinking things." Angela instinctively avoided Mia's gaze, turning her head away awkwardly. "It's already good enough that we're not constantly at each other's throats."

"Nonsense." Taking Angela's hand, Mia said in a gentle voice, "You know how he feels about you. If you truly didn't have feelings for him, would you still let him treat you so well and allow him to go to such lengths for you? Angela, you're not a manipulative woman."

Angela was speechless.
