Chapter 401

Mackenzie ignored Beatrix and walked out the door with two of her men

trailing behind her. As expected, she saw Quintus smoking while waiting by

his Land Rover.

Quintus immediately flicked off his cigarette when he saw Mackenzie and

sprayed mint cologne all over his body while chewing some gum before

walking toward her after ensuring that he did not have any smell of smoke on

-him.

She was speechless at his actions. What is this guy made of? I would have

thought that he was one of my men if I didn’t know him.

Unfortunately, Quintus couldn’t be blamed as he knew of Mackenzie’s

misandry and that she didn’t like the smell of smoke. If he didn’t do that, she

would have walked away as soon as they met.

“What are you here for?” Mackenzie questioned coldly.

She came to see Quintus as she thought he wanted to avenge Claudette’s

death. However, considering his actions, she knew that wasn’t the case.

“I want to have dinner with you, Mackenzie!” Quintus invited her with a smile.

“Dinner? Is this to repay you for saving me?” Mackenzie didn’t like to owe

people things and wanted to settle the matter. She could accept anything

except being together with him.

Yet, Quintus was confused. “What do you mean by saving you?”

She realized something in his expression and questioned urgently, “That night

at the valley. It wasn’t you who saved me from the two a*sa*sins?”

“Oh! You were referring to that?”

He acted as if he almost forgot about it and laughed, “Emmanuel, that idiot,

wanted to save you instead of my sister. How could that be? He’s supposed

to be with my sister and you’re mine. So, I saved you. Were you planning on

repaying me with your heart-”

Before he could finish his sentence, he noticed the cold glint in her beautiful

eyes and realized he probably said something wrong.

3/4

Well, this shouldn’t be the case. I saved her. She can’t hate me for that, right?

“That idiot!” Mackenzie cursed under her breath and ignored Quintus as she

stormed toward her Bentley.

“Hey. Hey! Mackenzie, if you don’t want to give me your heart, you can give

me a kiss! Or, dinner works too!”

After Mackenzie left in her Bentley, Quintus walked to his Land Rover and

asked Zane, who was sitting in the driver’s seat, “Did I say something just

now? She’s divorced Emmanuel and I went to her rescue like a prince. It

would be a fairytale if she gave me her heart.”

Zane simply smiled without answering. No one dared to tell their boss

straight to the face that they were stupid. He didn’t want any trouble.

“Ms. Quillen, where are we heading now?”

Wally was a smart driver. He drove off to help Mackenzie escape Quintus

before asking her where to go.

Alas, Mackenzie stayed silent as she also didn’t know where to go.

At that moment, Lexi called to report to her.

“What? You can’t find Emmanuel?”

“Yes, Ms. Quillen! I’ve used every channel I’ve got to look for him in Yeringham

and no sign of him. He has either gone into hiding or has left Yeringham.”

“Left Yeringham?” Mackenzie suddenly straightened her back as her heart felt

empty and overwhelmed. Why did that idiot leave? Was it because we

divorced or because of Claudette’s death? He couldn’t accept it and wanted

to escape?

Suddenly, numerous questions filled her mind and she felt unnerved by the

worry plaguing her mind.

Just as she was about to ask Wally to start the car, she heard Quintus say,

“My sister’s in a vegetative state after saving you. You should at least follow

me home to see her, right?”

“What did you say?” Mackenzie changed her mind and rolled down the

windows to look at Quintus in puzzlement.

Claudette didn’t die? Is that possible? Didn’t the bullet go through her heart?

Even though Quintus wasn’t as smart as Emmanuel, he could understand the

expression on Mackenzie’s face. Then, he smiled proudly. “I bet you didn’t

expect that. My sister’s body is different from the ordinary person’s. The

position of her heart is also different. Do you think she’s that dumb to use her

chest to stop the shot?”

Mackenzie knew that Claudette had some sort of sickness and was pestering

Emmanuel to treat her.

So, she was a little different than the others, but no one expected that her

heart would be in a different position too.

“Bring me to her now!”

“Sure!” Quintus agreed, but brought up a request, “But you have to get in my

car!”

Mackenzie bit her lips, but still exited her car to get on his Land Rover.

Zane was speechless at Quintus‘ way of picking up girls as it was so dumb. It

was no wonder that he had not been with a woman despite being so rich. It

seemed like Quintus knew himself well to actually set aside a 10–year plan to

pursue Mackenzie.

It was 9.00PM when Mackenzie arrived at the Lenoir Residence.

Although she grew up in a villa as the eldest daughter of the Quillen family,

she was still in awe of the solemn manor of the Lenoir Residence.

The manor was painted black and white with many edges and corners that

made the house look dignified.

This was different from the small villa Claudette lived in. This was the real

Lenoir Residence where her father–Adolph Lenoir, lived.

The guards in the villa were all in uniform armed with legal guns.

They stood guard like statues and looked scary unmoving in the dead of the

night.

Mackenzie easily arrived at Claudette’s ward with Quintus taking point.

Under the support of the Lenoir’s powerful influence and wealth, Claudette

was cared for in a sealed–off ward wearing almost nothing as numerous

pieces of medical equipment surrounded her while professional medical

staff were on standby to keep her alive.

They would have been long dead if this was some nobody. But the Lenoir

family was creating a miracle for Claudette.

A socialite herself, Mackenzie was surprised at the scene because the Quillen

family might not have the ability to pull such a stunt, let alone an ordinary

person.

Unfortunately, Claudette was still unable to regain consciousness as her face

looked lifeless. She could only depend on advanced medical equipment to

keep her breathing, which made people’s hearts ache for her.

At that moment, Mackenzie had mixed feelings for the woman. If it wasn’t for

Claudette, she could have been killed by the bomb.

If Claudette didn’t jump in front of Emmanuel, he could have been dead too.

Mackenzie was grateful for her, but it was also because of her that things

between her and Emmanuel turned so bad that they even went through with

the divorce.

Quintus kept talking beside Mackenzie, but it seemed she couldn’t hear him

as she didn’t respond to him at all.

Chapter 402

Wally had no choice but to park the car by the roadside without new orders

from Mackenzie.

He was surprised to see the worry on her face. She had changed after

meeting Emmanuel as she had never been so worried. She had certainly

never spared more than a second thought about someone.

Was this the power of love that could make a goddess like her become down

to earth?

“Mackenzie! Mackenzie!”

At that moment, that Land Rover caught up to them and Quintus rolled down

the windows to shout at her car, “If you’re not going to kiss me or have dinner

with me, then come home with me!”

Mackenzie came back to her senses when she heard his voice. She truly

wondered just what was going through his mind for him to act so

shamelessly.

Just as she was about to ask Wally to start the car, she heard Quintus say,

“My sister’s in a vegetative state after saving you. You should at least follow

me home to see her, right?”

“What did you say?” Mackenzie changed her mind and rolled down the

Unfortunately, Claudette was still unable to regain consciousness as her face

keep her

eathing, which made people’s hearts ache for her.

At that moment, Mackenzie had mixed feelings for the woman. If it wasn’t for

Quintus kept talking beside Mackenzie, but it seemed she couldn’t hear him

as she didn’t respond to him at all.

Chapter 403

“Sigh. Being a simp is hard!” Quintus could cry bitter tears for himself for being

in such a state, but he chose to be one. So, he couldn’t complain to anyone.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

A series of footsteps interrupted Mackenzie’s line of thought.

She looked up to see a middle-aged man with a mustache walking toward

her.

He had handsome features with a commanding aura. He was the famous

General Adolph Lenoir of Yeringham.

Beside him, was a charming and S**y woman who became his wife after

being his mistress-Laura Newman. Even though she wasn’t wearing

revealing clothes, she still made one’s thoughts wander down the gutter.

When Laura saw Mackenzie, she smiled, “Oh, my. I didn’t expect a guest to

visit us tonight! The young mistress of the Quillen family is indeed gorgeous.

No wonder men swoon over you!”

Jazz World

Even though it sounded like she was complimenting her, Mackenzie didn’t like

it one bit.

I’m afraid no one can compare to you if you want to talk about swooning

men.

“What are you here for, Ms. Quillen?” Adolph coldly demanded.

Anyone from Yeringham would falter before him. Terence wouldn’t, but it

would be a fifty-fifty chance that he could come out on top. However,

Mackenzie wasn’t scared at all even if she was just a guest.

“I’m here to visit Claudette, Mr. Lenoir!”

“Visit her?”

Adolph raised his eyebrows and his aura even made Quintus shudder.

“Ms. Quillen, I’ve heard rumors that you don’t really have a good relationship

with my daughter, though. Last time, she was a*sa*sinated in the valley and

was shot for it. You were there on these two occasions, right?”

Mackenzie frowned at his statement as she knew he was pressuring her on

purpose.

She was the only outsider in the Lenoir Residence and a woman while

numerous burly-looking guards surrounded her. If Mackenzie was just

anyone else, she would have peed her pants by now.

Then, Mackenzie put on a small smile before answering, “General Lenoir,

rumors may not be true. I was there those two times, but I’m not Claudette’s

enemy. I am sad that she’s in such a state right now.”

Laura smiled at that. “People say Ms. Quillen’s intelligence and wisdom are

outstanding. It seems that it is true now that I’ve seen it myself!”

However, Mackenzie scoffed, “You flatter me, Madam Newman. I’m just an

ordinary person.”

Laura harrumphed unhappily since Mackenzie addressed her as Madam

Newman and not Mrs. Lenoir, suggesting that she was a scheming woman.

Regardless, Adolph didn’t care about their fight and pointed at Mackenzie’s

nose as he warned, “I don’t care what you say. All I know is that you and that

man called Emmanuel were there both times Claudette has been hurt. This is

on you both if she never wakes up!”

Mackenzie gritted her teeth. He’s just being unreasonable now!

She had heard stories about him as a general in Yeringham. He was known

to be very domineering, which was also the norm for most generals.

Nonetheless, it didn’t mean that she would be scared of him even if others

were.

“Mr. Lenoir, I’ve heard that you’re a tough guy on the battlefield. I believe

you’re not the type to bully the weak, right? I happen to know who shot

Claudette. Would you like to know that?

Laura heard that and immediately pursed her lips as she tossed her head

with a cold scoff.

Naturally, Laura was the reason why Adolph had heard of Mackenzie’s

involvement as she wanted to use his power to pressure Mackenzie. That

was because she had always felt that Mackenzie was bullying Claudette.

Alas, it seemed like it wasn’t working as she hoped

Chapter 404

“Who?” Adolph stared at Mackenzie and questioned commandingly.

“Magnus Zelinsky!” Mackenzie answered

“What? That can’t be!” Laura exclaimed out of surprise.

Even Quintus couldn’t help but pipe in, “Mackenzie, that’s nonsense. We all

know Magnus likes my sister the most. He cares for her like she’s a princess.

Why would he kill her?”

However, Mackenzie didn’t answer him and met Adolph’s eyes without

backing down. “Easy. General Lenoir can investigate to see if it is truly him. Do

you not have the ability or the guts to do so?

“How dare you?!” Adolph’s right-hand man’s hand came swinging at her.

Mackenzie didn’t flinch at all as she stared at Adolph. She was betting that

the Lenoirs didn’t dare to touch her.

Whoosh!

As expected, the right-hand man’s palm missed her face, but the force of the

wind from the swing of his hand still grazed Mackenzie’s face and made it

sting:

“Stop! Who said you can do that?” The next second, Quintus was standing

before Mackenzie and shouting at him. Mackenzie was his goddess!

“Deputy Markus, don’t be rude. Step back!” Only then did Adolph order him to

back away sternly, but he didn’t plan on punishing his subordinate.

Then, he told Mackenzie, “I will investigate the matter. Whoever the culprit is, I

won’t let them off the hook! But there’s one more person that I won’t let slide

too!”

Mackenzie was taken aback at his tone and asked curiously, “Who?”

“Emmanuel!”

Adolph gritted his teeth and turned around to leave without more

explanation.

Not only has Emmanuel disappointed my precious daughter, but he also

failed to protect her and even let her block a shot for him! This is

unacceptable! Who does he think he is to treat my daughter like that?

He wasn’t aware of a lot of things as he was swamped with work. However,

after he spent some time investigating Claudette’s accident, he became

furious. He swore he would not let Emmanuel off easily.

Mackenzie was a smart woman and could understand where Adolph was

coming from. Unfortunately, she also knew the matter better than him and

felt that Emmanuel couldn’t be blamed for this.

What now? First things first, Emmanuel is missing. If General Lenoir finds him,

can Emmanuel handle his fury?

“Mackenzie?” It wasn’t until Quintus waved his hands before her that she

snapped back to her senses.

At that moment, Adolph and Laura had left the room and only Quintus

lingered as he filled the silence with nonsense.

She was just about to leave when Quintus suddenly said, “Oh, right,

Mackenzie. My sister was the host of the Fragrant Boudoir Tea Tasting

Ceremony. Now that she’s not around, we were thinking that you’re the best

person to attend. What do you think?”

Quintus did everything he could and even took over the management of the

Tea Tasting Ceremony just to gain the opportunity to see Mackenzie more

often. If Mackenzie agreed, he would have a legitimate reason to host the

ceremony.

Of course, he expected that she would reject him since he was used to being

turned down. Honestly, he could already recite the words she was going to

use.

To his immense surprise, Mackenzie thought about it and asked, “What do I

have to do?”

She had attended that ceremony some time ago and even took out the

-golden jade phoenix Emmanuel gave her to show off to Claudette.

Chapter 405

Alas, so many things in life were unpredictable. Just a short period later,

Claudette was on the cold hospital bed and might not ever open her eyes

again.

By now, Mackenzie held no enmity toward her and was filled with guilt

instead. That was why she decided to take over her post in the tèa club as a

little tribute to her memory.

“Huh? What do you need? Hang on, let me send you the files.” Quintus felt

that he had hit the jackpot, thinking that he would have the opportunity to

bond with Mackenzie every week after this. Such an amazing thing had never

occurred to him, not even in his wildest dreams!

Soon, he took her to the house that Claudette used to live in and led her to

Claudette’s room. The style and furnishing of the room were completely

different from Mackenzie’s because the room was filled with imagination, a

display of Claudette’s romanticism.

It makes sense now why she would fall for that idiotic Emmanuel, Mackenzie

sneered silently.

Meanwhile, Quintus, the dunce, was still looking around for the information

that Claudette left behind, appearing very silly. Now that she had a

comparison, she now understood that Emmanuel was actually smart

because he would get things done systematically, far better than Quintus.

Suddenly, her gaze scanned downward and she saw a delicate book that

Quintus had just casually tossed out on the desk. So, she picked it up and

flipped it open out of curiosity.

“Is this… a diary?” She wouldn’t expect that a person like Claudette would

have the habit of writing diaries. She initially wanted to close the book and

place it back, but she suddenly saw Emmanuel’s name.

‘December 24, 2019. I think I’ve met that man of my dreams. He’s probably six

feet tall and very good–looking, but he’s actually a gynecologist. More

importantly, he can cure my strange illness! He’s so honest and gentle, and

his eyes were as still as water when he removed my pants. I felt his gaze

piercing through my heart like a laser. Am I in love? For a person who had

never fallen for a man, did I really fall in love at first sight? This is

unbelievable! Okay, I need to observe him carefully.’

When Mackenzie read until this point, she seemed to have fallen under a

spell. As it turned out, Claudette already knew Emmanuel three years ago

and fell for him at that time. So, between her and Claudette, who was the

third party in this relationship?

Mackenzie couldn’t stop herself and flipped to the next page. Interspersed

between Claudette’s beautiful and neat handwriting was her faint but

sincere love for Emmanuel. Since that day, almost every day of her diary was

related to him.

‘This damned, weird illness. Why isn’t it acting up? Then, I can have a reason

to look for Dr. Lowe again!‘

‘This is amazing! Today, my illness finally acted up and Dr. Lowe performed

acupuncture on me again. His eyes are still as clear as always, but why is this

man uninterested in my body? He has almost seen everything!‘

ht

4/4

‘Do all good–looking men have a higher chance of being gay? I was

observing in secret today and saw that my dear Dr. Lowe isn’t interested in

any woman’s body at all! This is great! No… This may not be a good thing,

right? As it turns out, after being a gynecologist for a long time, a man can

become aS**ual… What should I do? Is Dr. Lowe the same, too? Whatever. As

long as I feel comfortable and happy while I’m with him, that’s enough for

me.‘

More than a hundred pages from the beginning of the diary were Claudette’s

memories of Emmanuel, her description of simple events filled with pure love.

If an emotional woman was reading this, she would have cried her eyes out.

Even Mackenzie, the icy goddess, couldn’t help but feel a little heartbroken for

Claudette.

A woman who had been secretly in love with Emmanuel for three years still

couldn’t get his love in the end. Instead, she would be spending the rest of

her life lying on a cold bed. Life was simply too unfair to her!

Chapter 406

“What are you looking at, Mackenzie?” Quintus asked, pacing toward her upon

sensing something off.

Mackenzie ignored him, as usual, and his jaw dropped when he saw the look

on her face. Am I seeing tears in the corners of the icy goddess’ eyes?

Meanwhile, she was so engrossed in reading that she didn’t even notice that

Quintus was next to her as she continued reading Claudette’s diary quietly.

‘I just found out today that Dr. Lowe is already married! What should I do? I

“Rosie, how could you say that?! Manny is truly foolish, so why can’t we

comment on it?”

“Exactly! When did your family become so superior?” Jack and his wife joined

forces and started reprimanding her.

Since Roselynn was at a disadvantage in arguing against the two of them,

she quickly signaled Jaxton with her eyes. Why won’t you come and help your

wife for a moment?

To her surprise, Jaxton not only failed to support her, but he also dragged her

down like an anchor, saying, “Roselynn, they’re right! Emmanuel is indeed as

foolish as a pig, and now he has even committed murder! We should draw

clear boundaries with him quickly!”

Roselynn’s face turned red with fury as she snarled, “Jaxton, how could you

say such a thing?! Let go of me now!”

Alas, he didn’t heed her words. He tightened his hold on her instead of

releasing her, attempting to pull her away. His stubborn male ego took over

thinking that even though he might not be as tall as her, men were ultimately

physically stronger than women. He didn’t believe she could resist him. So, he

didn’t expect her to retaliate by brutally stepping on his foot.

the ground.

“Mom! Mom!” Roselynn hastily rushed to help Alessandra, only to discover

that her mother had suffered a significant fall. Her wrist was already swollen

due to the fall.

“Jaxton, you b*stard! I won’t let you get away with this!” Rage consumed

Roselynn as she pounced on Jaxton, ready to engage in a fight.

On the other hand, Jaxton had kept his true nature hidden for so long, so he

always desired to show his authority over this woman. Thus, he saw this as

the perfect opportunity to display his prowess! Little did he anticipate that

Roselynn possessed far superior abilities than an average woman. Therefore,

she merely had to deliver a forceful knee strike to his lower abdomen,

momentarily incapacitating him.

When Jack’s family witnessed this spectacle, they were left dumbfounded.

Just how pathetic can a man be to not be able to even defeat his own wife?

“F*ck!” Consumed by anger and embarra*sment, Jaxton attempted to

stagger to his feet and engage in another physical confrontation with

Jazz World

Roselynn. Unfortunately, at that precise moment, a sudden knock on the door

shattered his momentum.

“Is anyone there? We’re here to deliver a letter!” A voice called from outside.

Letter? Everyone in the room was astonished. What era was this? Who still

sends letters?

Since the door was unlocked and hadn’t been opened after some time, the

person outside decided to give it a try and pushed it open.

Two men dressed in suits stood before them with sharp eyes that exuded a

commanding presence. When they swept their gaze across the crowded

room, the two men confidently stepped inside and got straight to the point,

asking, “We’re delivering a letter on behalf of Emmanuel! Who is his mother?”

“I-I’m the one!” Alessandra was also quite surprised upon hearing that it was

a letter from her son and quickly responded once she came back to her

senses.

The others were equally taken aback. Isn’t Emmanuel in prison for murder?

How is it possible for him to have someone deliver a letter?

Regrettably, when Roselynn inquired about their identities, the two men

simply walked away without a response! They were members of the Wolf

Warrior Society, who were instructed by Eve to a*sist with the letter delivery

and were not allowed to expose their identity.

Mom, I’m doing well, no need to worry! I’ll be away for some time!

The letter’s contents were brief, but it was clearly written by Emmanuel.

“Mom, that’s wonderful! It appears that Manny is fine!” Roselynn’s cold gaze

fell sharply on Jaxton after consoling Alessandra.

He couldn’t help but tremble under her fiery gaze, overwhelmed by guilt. He

was well aware of Emmanuel’s combat prowess; if Emmanuel hadn’t been

imprisoned and discovered that he had injured his mother, would he be

driven to kill him in a fit of rage?

Since he had already taken a life, so adding one more wouldn’t make a

difference to him, right? The mere thought of it made him feel uneasy!

Chapter 409

“Ah-” Jaxton cried out in pain and reluctantly released his grip.

Slap! The sound of a slap echoed through the air as Roselynn swiftly turned

and struck him across the face, scolding, “Jaxton, what are you thinking?”

Jaxton cradled his burning cheek, feeling utterly humiliated under the gaze of

Jack and his wife.

When Alessandra noticed the hostility in Jaxton’s eyes, she swiftly stepped in

to mediate the argument. “Both of you, stop fighting! Roselynn, apologize to

Jaxton. You can’t resort to violence.”

Apologize? Roselynn was taken aback. How could her mother expect her to

apologize in this situation? To her astonishment, Jaxton’s anger flared,

prompting him to forcefully shove Alessandra aside, who was trying to

Actually, he hadn’t intended to harm Alessandra, but in the heat of the

“Mom! Mom!” Roselynn hastily rushed to help Alessandra, only to discover

Chapter 410

1/4

“Jaxton, do you seriously want to cut ties with me?! Fine, let’s cut ties! Get lost!

Now!”

Roselynn was deeply disappointed with Jaxton, thinking he should have

stood by her and figured out a solution with her to help her brother instead of

cutting ties with her. Alright, now that my brother is fine, I don’t mind cutting

ties with my unhelpful husband!

“Roselynn, I…” Jaxton was still in love with Roselynn, refusing to let the

argument between them worsen since he didn’t want them to end up

divorcing each other.

“Get lost!” Roselynn refused to give Jaxton a chance.

Noticing his wife’s anger, Jaxton decided not to engage in an argument with

her. On the contrary, he expected Roselynn to take their marriage more

-seriously since Emmanuel and Mackenzie had divorced. After all, that would

mean the Lowe family had lost their support. However, Roselynn was too

emotional to see the bigger picture. Fine, I’ll wait until you’re calmer. By then, I

don’t think you’ll make the same decision again, and I’m going to make you

pay for what you did to me today!

“What about you guys? Do you want to cut ties too?” Roselynn pointed at

Jack and his family, questioning them.

While Jack and his wife exchanged gazes awkwardly, Benny interfered and

said, “I understand that you’re angry, Roselynn, but there is no need to vent

your frustration on us. We’re all from the same family, so why must you sever

ties with any one of us?”

Upon hearing that, Roselynn seemed to calm down a little. Then, Benny

added, “Your brother is such a disappointment. Your mom and I arranged 17

speed dates for him before he finally settled down with someone, but in just

two months, he ended up divorcing his wife. I don’t understand him at all.

Does he think marriage is a game or something? After the divorce, he’s

running away from his problems again like a kid. When is he ever going to

behave like a grown-up? Furthermore, I find it ridiculous for him to just lose

his cool in the face of a little insult from our relatives.”

Roselynn was speechless when she heard what her father said. However, her

father’s words actually made sense to her, rendering her tongue-tied without

knowing how to refute him.

“That’s right!” Jack echoed his father’s words with ridicule. “Running away isn’t

going to solve his problems. If he doesn’t do something to get his beautiful,

wealthy wife back, he is not going to get her back. Don’t tell me he’s just

praying and waiting for her to return to his side. Who does he think he is? A

handsome superstar?”

Alina covered her mouth and chuckled. However, little did they know that

they were about to be proven wrong in the most embarra*sing way the next

second. Soon, the notification alert from all of their phones rang at the same

time as they simultaneously received a message. Not only did Jack and his

wife get the message, but Roselynn and Jaxton, along with the others, did as

well. What’s going on? Is it a message generated by the system or

something?

“Guys, check this out!” Alina viewed the message and exclaimed in disbelief.

“Wait, what? Is this true or fake?” Jack sounded surprised as well.

When Roselynn saw the expressions on their faces, she got curious,

wondering what they had seen on their phones. Thus, she reached for hers

and viewed the message, whereupon she became as stunned as them.

‘Emmanuel, your wife, Ms. Quillen, is looking for you. Please go home once you

read this message.’

‘Anyone who provides information about Emmanuel’s location will be

rewarded three hundred thousand!’ As Jack took a look at the sender’s

number, he realized it was from Yeringham’s press, shocking him at once.

“What?! What the hell is going on?!” Jack exclaimed, wishing someone could

answer his bewilderment. After all, he just called Emmanuel a fool for waiting

for his girlfriend to come back to him, only to be proven wrong shortly after.
