"Ludwik, just get over it, I'm not having this baby!" Florence struggled fiercely.

He had found her. If she gave birth to this child, there was a good chance he would kill her!

She had just found Parisa, her plans were not yet in motion, she hadn't had her revenge, how could she just die like this?

This child, she couldn't let him have it alive.

Florence's eyes darted coldly, a touch of madness crossing her face. She turned, grabbing the fruit knife from the nightstand, and pressed it against her belly, her voice hoarse with threat, "Ludwik, get this straight, your baby's inside me. I decide whether it lives or dies. This is Whitney's baby, can you bear it?"

"If the child dies, do you think you'll live? I'll chop you up and cook you."

Ludwik's cold eyes narrowed, his terrifying demeanor was no joke.

Florence's fingers trembled, the knife pressing against her belly. The most important thing now was to save her own life. This terrifying man had come for the child; she had no choice but to hand it over.

But she had to negotiate for her own life.

She also feared he'd realize something, she couldn't let him stay too long, to avoid running into Parisa!

Florence, shivering with fear, spoke harshly, "I can have it, but you have to promise not to take my life. Take the child and leave immediately, stop bothering me!"

Ludwik didn't utter a word, as if she was telling a joke.

Florence, driven to madness, pressed the knife deeper, "Agree to my terms! If you don't, I'll end it now, and no one gets anything!"

Her white maternity dress stained red, Ludwik's icy eyes narrowed as he snatched the knife from her hand.

Florence, backed into a corner, tried to stab herself in the belly.

Ludwik slapped her across the face, sending her tumbling, the knife now in his hand, pointed at Florence's throat.

The man casually remarked, "Negotiate with me? Who do you think you are?"

Florence was too scared to move.

"Go call the doctor, and keep it quiet!" Ludwik barked at the nanny.

The nanny, terrified, immediately ran towards the door.

"Cara! Scream for help! Get the hospital to catch him, catch him!" Florence yelled, not ready to give up.

Cara paused, her face pale, turning back with pity, "Ms. Sheldon, just have the baby, for heaven's sake. It hasn't had a single good day in your belly. Since it's not yours, return it to its rightful owner, it's a small life after all."

Saying so, she even wiped away a tear.

Ludwik eyed the nanny, knowing she wouldn't make a fuss, he let her go.

Sure enough, soon a foreign doctor followed the nanny in.

Seeing a tall stranger in the room, the doctor looked surprised, his gaze questioning Florence.

Florence tried to seek help, but before she could speak, Ludwik pointed the knife at the doctor, his expression fierce, whispering in German, "Shut up, don't say a word if you don't want to die. Deliver the baby."

"Ok… ok…" The doctor, pale with fear, managed to say, "Miss, please lie down. I'll administer oxytocin now, you'll start dilating soon. This man has explained to you, the baby is premature and has been injured, I cannot guarantee the baby's life."

Ludwik's heart nearly broke hearing this.

"I need you to ensure it survives, or you'll be the one dying," he stated clearly, his handsome eyes devilish, ready to turn murderous at any moment.

The doctor turned pale!

The scalpel sliced through Florence's delicate skin, screams filled the operating room, relentless.

Only through such revenge could Ludwik find a semblance of peace.

His gaze fixed on the emerging corner of the fetus, becoming increasingly bloodshot, filled with regret and remorse, pain and sorrow, all flashing through his eyes.

A hard tear glimmered in the corner of the man's eye.

If only he had told Whitney from the start she was pregnant! Maybe the outcome would have been different.

She might have chosen to abort the child, but she would have guarded against those around her.

Florence would not have succeeded.

The thought of his child, conceived in love but forced to grow in the womb of the woman he despised most, was a desecration of Whitney's memory.

He could never fully accept the child born from Florence. How much did he owe to this innocent life?

And Sammy, he owed her too. Sammy had sacrificed so much for her brother, and here he was, caught in a web of decisions he wished he could undo.

Ludwik had been standing there, lost in thought, when Florence's screams shattered the silence. Her cries, filled with agony, echoed through the sterile room as the doctors worked feverishly.

He watched, his face a mask of stoicism, trying to detach himself from the scene unfolding before him. But deep down, the turmoil was undeniable.

Finally, as Florence's screams turned into whimpers and her complexion paled to a ghostly white, succumbing to the pain, the moment they had all been waiting for arrived.

The baby was born.

In that instant, despite the tumultuous journey, a new life, innocent and untainted, came into the world, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the chaos.
