Whitney, her face flushed with anger, snapped, "Florence, you killed my mom, and I swear I'll make you pay for it."

Ludwik grabbed hold of Whitney, who was trembling with rage, barely able to stand.

He glared coldly at Florence, a smirk playing on his lips. "Using a fake DNA test as your cover? Officers, if you want to solve Parisa's murder, just check if Bryce and Florence have received any large sums of money recently. As for my account, you'll never find unexplained funds there."

Bryce's expression changed, and he quickly retorted, "Officers, Ludwik might have killed Ms. Tennyson out of revenge for being ousted from the Inko Group deal! He's cunning, and once he gets control of her company, he'll find a way to move assets undetected. The evidence is nearly conclusive; he was caught with Ms. Tennyson's clothes, trying to get rid of them. You should take him in for questioning!"

The detective collected the clothes and blood samples, then said, "Ludwik, please come with us to the station. We need you to explain why you were at the cave, why you had Ms. Tennyson's clothes, and what the bloodstains mean. Where is Ms. Tennyson now? We need answers to all these questions."

Whitney stepped in front of Ludwik, her voice cold and fierce, "Can't you see they're trying to frame him? I reported my mother's disappearance ages ago. Just check with the precinct on Ethereal Mountain Road; they were already investigating. Florence only reported it less than an hour ago. Can't you see through this?"

Florence, not backing down, began to sob, "And I could say you reported it early to cover up a kidnapping. People often report crimes they're planning to commit to divert suspicion. Officers, please investigate thoroughly."

"We can't rule that out," the detective mused, frowning. "All four of you need to come to the station for questioning. But Ludwik, the evidence points to you, so you'll need to wear handcuffs."

Tears streamed down Whitney's face as she bit her lip to stop from shaking.

As Ludwik's wrists were cuffed, he was led away by the police. She knew he was buying her time.

Whitney turned and ran deeper into the cave.

As she passed Florence, Florence blocked her path and whispered with a smirk, "The cave leads to a cliff. Good luck with that."
