Ludwik heard Parker's teasing and shot him a cold glance, ignoring the jibe. Instead, he said seriously, "First, go check on Whitney, then handle your stuff. My daughter is still in the hospital... Whitney won't forget, but she's overwhelmed right now. If she's in a better mood, just give her a nudge."

"No need for me to remind her!" Parker chuckled, "Sammy's taken Ryan to see Whitney. Sammy's sure to update her on his sister's situation. If Parisa wakes up, Whitney will definitely focus on your daughter."

Ludwik took a deep drag from his cigarette, his eyes dark and deep. He was just waiting for the thief's 'last hurrah,' and he chuckled coolly to himself.

Two days later.

It was a regular morning at the Sheldon Group office. Employees were going about their work as usual, even though Chairman Hudson and CEO Whitney were absent. Thanks to Whitney's efficient assistant, everything was running smoothly.

Suddenly, Florence burst into the office with a group of people. The security guards tried to intervene, but Florence's investigators forcefully blocked them.

News of the commotion reached Cody, who was in the middle of a meeting. He rushed to the lobby, accompanied by several shareholders from the Sheldon Group, all wearing expressions of surprise.

Florence caught a glimpse of their astonishment and wariness, and a slow, cold smile spread across her face. These fools never expected Florence to make a comeback, did they?

Back when she was humiliated and kicked out of the Sheldon Group by Whitney, these people watched her downfall with cold amusement. But today, she was back!

Florence arched her delicate brows and smiled at Cody, Whitney's lapdog. "What’s the matter, Cody? So surprised you can’t recognize me?"

Cody snapped back to reality, furrowing his brow. "How could I not recognize Ms. Sheldon? But Ms. Sheldon, you've been out of the Sheldon Group for a long time. Suddenly barging in with these people..."

Cody's sharp gaze swept over the uniformed personnel behind Florence, his tone wary. "Who are these people? How dare you enter our company without the security's permission?"

"Cody, you're joking, right? I'm just returning to what’s rightfully mine. How can that be called barging in?" Florence said haughtily.

Cody was taken aback by her shamelessness and let out a cold laugh. "The Sheldon Group belongs to Mr. Sheldon and the young Miss. Ms. Sheldon, have you forgotten how you and Hugh tried to seize control and failed, leading to Hugh's expulsion from the company? Later, you shamelessly teamed up with Bryce to try and strip the Sheldon family's assets, only to be ousted by the young Miss! The Sheldon Group has nothing to do with you. You're practically a jobless wanderer now. Why are you here with these people?"

Florence's face turned green with Cody's words in front of Elodie, but she suppressed her anger, her eyes flashing with malice. "Since you insist I have no connection with the Sheldon Group, I won’t hold back. Elodie, let’s have your father’s people thoroughly investigate the Sheldon Group for any tax evasion!"

Cody's face changed slightly as he glanced at the elegantly dressed woman beside Florence. The woman smirked, raising her brow and gesturing to the people behind her. "These folks are from the finance department. My dad mentioned that this year they're cracking down on companies pretty hard. I heard the Sheldon Group just bounced back from economic hardship, which might mean tax evasion. Go ahead and investigate!"

Outside the tightly secured operating room at Nelson Hospital, Whitney received Cody's distress call. That's when she learned about the turmoil at the Sheldon Group. Florence was leveraging the Miller family's influence, pressuring the shareholders.

This so-called tax fraud investigation seemed like a page straight out of the playbook used against the Lippert family.

Whitney's expression turned icy, but before she could fully process the situation, a call from the Brew Hill Sheldon family estate came through.

This time, it was Emma on the line, her voice frazzled. "Whitney, what on earth did you do to Florence back then? She’s come back and refuses to acknowledge me as her grandmother. She’s even going around claiming she's not Holly's daughter, that you are, and that she was swapped at birth by the Sheldon family.

And to top it off, this afternoon she showed up with officials from the property registry and claimed the Sheldon Mansion. She’s trying to boot us all out!

You need to come back and sort this out. You're the heir to the Sheldon family; you can't just abandon us to our fate.

Besides, you must have been too harsh on Florence back then, causing her to harbor such a grudge against the Sheldon family. And now Holly's missing too. Maybe this has pushed her over the edge..."

Emma's baseless accusations nearly sent Whitney over the edge. It was as if the old woman was blind to Florence's scheming, still making excuses for her while laying the blame squarely on Whitney.
