Whitney gazed at her with deep concern, then said, "Oh my goodness, I'm so relieved we've finally met. We'll have plenty of time to talk later. Right now, you're not in a condition to speak, and I don't want to tire you out."
"Take your time recovering. The day you confront BryceFlorence will be your moment, not just for you, but for Mr. Wilson too!"
Parisa's eyelids fluttered in surprise. Was Mr. Wilson awake too?
Just then, as if on cue, there was a knock at the door. Parker appeared, pushing Phineas's wheelchair silently into the room.
Unaware of the situation, Whitney opened the door, her eyes widening at the sight of the frail middle-aged man in the wheelchair.
Before she could even formulate a question, Parker introduced him with a resigned smile, "Whitney, this is my uncle, Phineas. He insisted on coming to see Ms. Tennyson as soon as he heard she had miraculously recovered."
So this was Phineas? Whitney recalled meeting him once at a Brew Hill housewarming party. Yet, Phineas probably wouldn't remember her.
Naturally, she put on a welcoming smile and said, "Hello, Mr. Wilson."
Phineas scrutinized Whitney for the first time, his mind flashing back to Parisa's true visage. He turned to Parker, astonished, "Is this the young woman who is..."
"Yes, she's Parisa's daughter, Whitney," Parker confirmed.
Whitney stepped aside to let Parker wheel Phineas in, asking, "Did you manage to keep this under wraps?"
"Of course, it's all top secret," Parker replied with a sly grin. "You might want to call off the search team at the Grand Canyon. And if you have the time, put on a show for that scoundrel Bryce."
"Luckily, she has a daughter, and tomorrow Ms. Sheldon will be holding a shareholder meeting to formally take over. You're all wise enough to see where the wind is blowing. Betray Phineas now and back Ms. Sheldon. Supporting her is supporting me, and your dividends will only grow."
The shareholders exchanged uneasy glances. Bryce was suddenly flush with cash, and officials seemed to flock to him.
But one shareholder voiced doubt, "But Ms. Tennyson's body still hasn't been found. What if... Ms. Sheldon rushing to take over might stir opposition from the other shareholders."
Bryce's eyes darkened, ready to assert his confidence.
Just then, his phone rang, interrupting his thoughts.
