Shane paused, "You guys installed cameras at your place?"

"It's not my place," Whitney lowered her gaze, "It's Bryce's mansion. I suspect he might have them. But I'm not sure, just to be cautious, I wanted to ask for your help to check it out. I need to snoop around his study without him finding out."

Shane was taken aback but after the welcome party Elodie threw, he wasn't surprised Whitney was suspecting Bryce of something.

"So, you and Bryce are..."

"Yeah, I want to investigate him while I'm still around.

I think he's hiding a lot from me.

Whether it's Tiana's disappearance or Audrey's death, I also promised Sawyer I'd get to the bottom of it."

Shane said, "But you had me tail Bryce for a few days before, and the detective didn't find anything amiss."

That was what puzzled Whitney too.

But now she had a theory, "If he's always been good at disguising, is there a possibility that your detective was spotted by him from the get-go? Maybe even you've been played, and he's just been pretending to be a good guy to fool everyone."

Shane's expression darkened. If that was the case, Bryce was far more cunning than they thought.

Thinking back, it was indeed odd that the detective didn't find anything.

"My detective mentioned he has a detector that can sense pinhole cameras."

Whitney exhaled, "Give me your detective's contact. I'll have him pretend to be an employee from my company and visit the mansion this afternoon. He needs to be careful not to leave any trace."

"Sure." Shane turned to make the call.

Whitney also called Cody over and forged a resume for the detective from the Sheldon Group.

-

In the afternoon.

Whitney drove back to Bryce's mansion.

After learning from the Lutz Group's people that Bryce was at work, she immediately called the detective over.

"Ms. Valentine, you can call me Ryder."

"Shane briefed you, right?" Whitney nodded in question.

Ryder nodded back but then took out a small tablet, showing a picture of a kid on the screen.

Whitney was startled, "Sammy?"

The person in the tablet video was indeed Sammy!

At that moment, the little rascal had sneaked out of preschool, fiddling with a small computer, "Mommy, I talked to Uncle Shane, I know what you're up to.

Just let Brother Ryder walk around the house, I can detect some hidden cameras with infrared."

"Ryder can handle this, now disappear!" Whitney was deeply worried.

This little hacker, always so capable.

"Brother Ryder might not find them all, I'll talk to him, don't worry." Sammy completely ignored his mommy's stern look.

Just then, car noises sounded outside!

Unexpectedly, Bryce had come back.

Caught off guard, Whitney quickly pulled out a contract, and Ryder swiftly hid the tablet in a document bag, straightening his tie like a subordinate, standing quietly before Whitney.

She hadn't imagined the house was actually riddled with cameras.

This was Bryce's house, who else but him could have installed these devices?

Meaning, from the day she moved in, her every move had been monitored by Bryce.

Thankfully, she hadn't recklessly searched Bryce's study yet.

Otherwise, she might have alarmed him before finding anything.

This man... was too terrifying.

"Ryder, in my bedroom... the bathroom?"

"Sammy said the bathroom's clean, I didn't detect anything there either," Ryder whispered back.

Whitney secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

The thought of Bryce possibly watching her shower was enough to make her want to confront him head-on.

"Bottom line, the places rigged with the most eyes are your bedroom, the living room, and even outside the house," Ryder frowned as he cautioned. "Ms. Valentine, your every move hasn't slipped past his watchful gaze. He even knows what you're doing in your bedroom, clear as day.

So, the moment I came over, he rushed back home."

Whitney took a chilling breath, trying to keep her composure. Regardless, she had decided to stay here to investigate him, so she needed to keep her cool and not panic. "Are they all well-hidden? I've been living here for almost a month and never noticed anything."

"Absolutely. They're all top-of-the-line pinhole cameras, tiny in size, hidden in outlets or the ceiling. To the naked eye, they're practically invisible. Even if you did spot one, you'd mistake it for a speck of dust. You wouldn't recognize it," Ryder explained.

Whitney lifted her hand to her furrowed brow, "Alright, got it. You better head back now."

"Ms. Valentine..." Ryder pressed his earpiece, "Sammy says you should leave, you can't stay here. This place is basically a lion's den. Either arrange for someone to protect you, or he won't have peace of mind about Bryce. He even hit you last time."
