Roseanne was having a ball watching from the sidelines. "Alright, alright, let me handle dinner tonight. You two can assist me!"

With that, both Mamie and Scales had no objections.

They both knew that Roseanne was meticulous in her research, but they hadn't expected her to be so particular in the kitchen as well.

She had a system for everything: keeping the meats and veggies separate, identifying the greens that might look fresh but were actually past their prime, and even the angle at which you should slice the meat. Should you go against the grain or with it? Every step had its significance.

At home, Mamie and Scales usually didn't lift a finger when it came to cooking, but here they were, hustling around without a hint of complaint. Instead, they found the whole process fascinating, as if they were discovering a new world.

By the time dinner was ready, two hours had flown by.

Mamie stood with her hands on her hips, surveying the feast laid out before them, a smug little grin on her face. "Wow, I'm pretty amazing. I can't believe I helped prepare all this!"

Naturally, this called for a photo op. She whipped out her phone and snapped away at the spread.

As soon as she shared the pictures on social media, Duke was the first to hit the 'like' button. Soon enough, aunts and uncles from all over were chiming in, liking, and commenting.

Mamie was on cloud nine.

Seeing her so pleased, Scales couldn't help but smile too.

Two days later, Roseanne's foot was fully healed, and she was back to her usual energetic self, bouncing around without any restrictions.

She took the seed pod she had found back to school and handed it over to her professor.

"A car for me? Who's it from?"

The salesperson smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry, but that's confidential. We can't disclose that information."

Roseanne nodded. "Alright, then I won't accept it. You can take it back."

She started to close the door.

"Wait, hold on..." The salesman, sensing she was a tough customer, quickly added, "It's a brand-new Maserati, limited edition, only 50 in the world. Are you sure you want to pass it up?"

Roseanne replied coolly, "The more expensive something is, the less trustworthy it seems if it just falls into your lap like this."

Undeterred, the salesman lingered at the door. "I'm telling you, it's a Maserati. I'm not lying! Just come down and see for yourself."

He couldn't believe anyone would turn down such a luxurious car.
