Chapter 196

Astrid bent down to grab some napkins from the table to wipe off the blood on her hands.

But damn, no matter how hard she scrubbed, it seemed like the blood wouldn’t budge.

Annoyed, she grabbed a bottle of booze from the table, splashed some on her hand, and scrubbed again. Finally, the blood was gone.

With that done, she left the room and saw two towering figures not far away.

Robb and Elio.

A smirk tugged at the corner of her lips as she thought about Elio probably tailing her.

And Robb was with his get–up intriguing.

Wait a minute!

If Robb had been here all along, he must’ve bumped into Fenton when he took his men out!

“Star, come here.” Robb beckoned her before she could even think.

She reluctantly walked over, “What are you doing here?”

“I was worried about you.” Robb’s expression turned serious, “I’ve already had Fenton take that guy back. I’ll grill him again.”

Seeing the disappointment in Astrid’s eyes, Robb added: “Don’t worry; after the interrogation, we’ll deal with him according to your wishes.”

“Thank you!” Astrid managed a small smile, “I’ll head back now.”

Robb nodded, “Alright, I’ll handle the rest. Get some rest and call me if anything comes up.”

“Sure.” Astrid waved at Robb and walked away. As soon as she took a few steps, Elio followed.

Elio quickly caught up with Astrid, noticing that her smile for Robb was now replaced with a cold expression.

Astrid, engrossed in her thoughts about what happened, didn’t notice Elio’s gaze.

Hearing this, Carson froze and awkwardly moved towards the door, “Sorry about what I said… bye!”

Watching Carson disappear out the door, Astrid chuckled, bent down to set Roman on the couch, “Here, let me help you win.”

“Yeah.” Roman clapped his hands in happiness; his face lit up with a smile.

Elio walked over to lock the door, then went off to the side to continue working on his laptop.

He didn’t question why Astrid showed up at the bar with many bodyguards or why she was looking for Warren Santos. It was as if he hadn’t been there at all.

After Roman had fallen asleep in the wee hours, Astrid was sitting in her room, lost in thought.

Her phone buzzed. It was a text from Elio: Come out.

She frowned, quietly getting up to leave the room.

The moment she opened the door, the living room was pitch black.
