“So, what’s this about? Why do you have to tell me without Neil around?” Damien asked.

“An old man came to the university to look for me today, and he told me something that I absolutely have to tell you,” Clarissa said. She bit her lip.

“I’m all ears.”

She told him everything George had told her. When the story had first started, Clarissa felt like it was a horror story. Now that she was retelling it to Damien, she subconsciously resonated with the story. As she got to the part about her mother being banished to the attic and having her own daughter taken away by Iris, she burst into tears and sobbed uncontrollably.

Her parentage had always been a mystery, and now, she knew the truth.
