After losing the child, Alisa seemed like a completely different person, her expression wild. "Do you think you are not disgusting? I know you still care about Chloe, but you were the one who pushed her away in the first place. Didn't it disgust you when you were with someone else in your marriage bed?

Alisa glared up at Jeffrey, no longer pretending. Her face turned cold and cruel. "I underestimated you, but don't worry, everything you care about will eventually be nothing!

"And Chloe? She's already died once, and we can make her die again. She will never know peace!"

She could not finish her words because Damian quickly stuffed something in her mouth to stop her from biting her tongue.

Damian scratched his head. "I'm not great with words, but you and Mr. Carter have fought so hard to be together. Look ahead, keep moving forward. You both are good people, and God will surely bless you with peace and safety!"

Seeing his genuine attempt to comfort me, I could not help but smile. "Yes, God is on my side, which is why I was reborn to see Carl again and even have a child with him. Maybe the world isn't so bad after all."

"Yes! I used to be a useless nobody, just someone for tasks. I took on the job of protecting Mr. Carter to pay for my sister's medical bills. To me, he was just another employer, someone willing to use me as a shield in dangerous times."
