Julie pointed at the data on the flash drive and said to Kieran, “According to Julien's research, it seems Kyle was taken back to Britain after breaking up with Sansa to reconnect with his roots. And it was only then that Joseph truly acknowledged Kyle's identity. But Kyle deliberately told us that he was taken back by his mother and Jessica because his mother wanted him to marry Jessica. Kieran didn't contradict Julie’s conclusion, but instead sat next to her and said earnestly, "Let's confront Kyle about this."

At first, Julie didn't understand what Kieran meant until he took the flash drive and drove with her to the hospital in the middle of the night.

Kyle didn't let go of Sansa's hand but kept his gaze fixed on her as if he couldn't get enough of looking at her, and then spoke to Julie and Kieran, “Are you here because you don't trust me to be with Sansa? Or do you suspect that the drunk driver who hit the professor was arranged by me?”

"Don't get it wrong, we're here to lay our cards on the table," Kieran replied, passing the laptop to Kyle.

After reading the content, Kyle looked grim and asked Kieran coldly while sitting beside the bed, “How did you get this information?”

"Probably because your files were easier to get into than Simon’s,” Kieran replied casually, recalling something Julien had mentioned about Simon’s information being as elusive as a needle in a haystack.

Julie had no intention of beating around the bush with Kyle, so she went straight to the point, “Kyle, when you and my sister broke up, did you really go back to Britain because of Jessica, and not to acknowledge your ancestry?”

After a long silence, Kyle finally let go of Sansa's hand.

This subtle movement caught Julie's eye, and her expression became much more serious.

Kyle was silent again for a while before he finally spoke, “Indeed, just like the investigation results on that flash drive, the first thing I did after returning with Grace was to officially meet Joseph at Grace's request.”

Kyle spoke openly to Julie and Kieran, “I've known since I was a child that my father was the head of the Fitzgerald family, but the first time I met Joseph was indeed after breaking up with Sansa. Julie turned her head in surprise at the moment Kieran’s words fell, looking at him. He would never say those words to Kyle unless he was one hundred percent sure, “I believe you haven't lied, but you also haven't told the whole truth. Everyone has their own story that they'd rather not share with outsiders, but that doesn’t stop me from trusting you.”

Kyle had thought Kieran was here to dig deep into the matter with the flash drive, but instead, he came to say these words. He also saw Kieran step forward, approach him, and ask, “About Rowan, I'll look into it. But there’s something I want to ask you.”

“What is it?” Kyle asked, his face serious.

Julie was also curious, turning to look at him, wondering what he was going to ask.

“Was this ring intended for Sansa?”

Kieran nodded, "Right, tonight's New Year's Eve. If you'd like, you're welcome to join the Hernandez family celebration!"

After bidding farewell to Kyle, Julie and Kieran had planned to pick up Amanda from the hospital, but she insisted on staying, claiming she still felt unwell and preferred a few more days' rest.

Kieran had invited Harding and Mr. Watson, who were keen to avoid their own families' nagging about marriage prospects by spending the holiday elsewhere. After all, they spent enough time with their kin throughout the year, and New Year's Eve was notorious for family interrogations on personal life.

The streets were festooned with decorations. Adeline Sanchez, now effectively homeless, accepted Julie's invitation without hesitation. Ever since her stepmother Victoria kicked her out, and her father Elliot had a falling out with Victoria, Elliot figured he'd only face conflict at home and chose to join the Hernandez family instead.

Payne, upon hearing Julien would be there, made haste to join the gathering. Annalise naturally followed Hayden.

To everyone's surprise, Dr. Brice showed up with Emily at Noblewood Retreat.

As the pair appeared at the doorway, Julie was momentarily stunned before she beckoned with a smile, "Come in, why stand at the door?"

Dr. Brice ushered Emily into the mansion and then said to Julie, "Emily has something she wants to tell you all."
