Taking a deep breath, I picked up the accident report and started flipping through it, page by page.

The more I read, the more my hands shook. Finally, I had to close my eyes, my whole body trembling like might just break apart. 

I think I finally got why Matthew and Lindey didn’t want me to see this. They were scared I wouldn’t be able to handle it. And now, I wasn’t so sure they were wrong. 

The report included photos from the scene. Even in black and white, the details were so horrifying that I felt like I was going to break apart. 

Cold sweat soaked my skin. I dug my nails into my palms, but it didn’t help.

My phone buzzed, but I was too numb to care who it was, let alone answer.
